Can anyone suggest a good OB in Knoxville? I don't have a preference for male or female...just someone with a good bedside manner. Also, they must have priviledges at the hospitals.
Any suggestions?

Too late mom. Should have found the one that would have done the abortion when you were carrying that devil spawn child of yours! No help for the hopeless.

Are you our Bailey's mom? Do you live in Morristown? I go to Dr Anderson at St. Mary's in Jefferson City. He's wonderful.

I find it sad that someone could be so miserable that they take a simple, reasonable question and use it as an opportunity to spew hatred.

As do I, Momma, but I'd like to respond to the question, though. Please check the credentials of any new doctor before you make the first appointment. Referrals from other women are great, but not infallable. I say this because have a friend who suffered a horrible experience from what was supposed to be a routine procedure, and the doctor was at fault. She nearly lost her life, and I nearly lost my friend.

Agreed Southern Sis.

My daughter had a very unplesant experience at her OG/Gyn office. The doctor was very good, but getting to her was worse than having a root canal without anesthetic. The ladies at the front office were rude, the wait in the front waiting room was long, but led to another wait in the back waiting room. Too much grief to go through just to see the doctor. After 3 visits at that office, she switched to another doctor where the whole package - from scheduling the appointment to check-out and going home has been very plesant. Is Bailysmom looking for a doctor in Morristown or another city?

I don't think this is our Bailey's mom. It looks like a setup for the troll to make the negative comment about Bailey.

Ya know, girls, it really goes without saying you gotta check credentials no matter what kind of doctor you see. Even given that, mistakes and problems still occur with board certified physicians. I believe the reason we ask other women, is more for our personal experiences with certain doctors. If you find a doctor that many women speak highly of, he or she is probably a good bet. Mostly, we can avoid the bad ones more easily if we talk to other women. Good luck, Bailey's mom (we love your daughter). I see Dr. Cole Anderson. I like him because he takes the time to really talk to me and I am very comfortable with him. Dr. Charles Scott was his mentor and brought him here. Dr. Scott delivered all of my children and he was the best.

If that's a troll and it needs a doctor, I'll take a look at it.

She don't be my momma, lol. I guess she is another Bailey's mom.

Baileysmom - I would HIGHLY suggest Dr. Lowell McCauley. He is at St. Mary's but does go to other hospitals to deliver from what I understand. He is a wonderful doctor that has a specialty in high risk pregnancies as well.

Here is his website...
http://lmccauleyobgyn.com/page2.html

You can go to www.healthgrades.com to get detailed reports on doctors...it is at a cost...but well worth it in the long run.

Here Dr. McCauley's ratings from other patients in comparison to national averages.

http://www.healthgrades.com/directory_search/...

I hope this helps.

I don't know who your Bailey is, but mine is a 13lb terrier. I live in Morristown and our medical community is lacking, so thats why I was looking at Knoxville.

Yeah. Try Dr Vick if you want to be fondled and touched inappropriately during your exam. There were MANY complaints for this very reason and that is the main reason his former partner McCauley left the practice and joined with another. I personally experienced this and several other women.

Actually McCauley is on his own now...the other two in the practice are the ones that went together. McCauley is my OB and a personal friend of the family so I know first hand. My husband actually worked in the office of the OBGYN Specialists when they were all still in practice together (there are some seriously funny stories with that...there is a reason men don't work at OB offices).
