US naval strategy is outdated. The carrier is too big a sitting duck, vulnerable to nuclear-tipped anti-ship missiles, to be effective any more. The US should be moving towards a decentralized small-ship fleet of highly mobile, speedy, destroyer-sized boats.

We will become the first nation in history to finance it's own defeat. And even knowing that, corporate greed will not allow us to alter our practices one tiny bit. So in a nutshell, we are doomed.
