this is really good initiative for both countries. More trade relations and technological exchanges should be encouraged.

The government forgot all the suffering that japanese people went through because of its attempting to meddle in Northeast Asia during the II WW. Southest Asia is not even Japanese matter. None South Asia country stood by Japan during the Senkaku incident last year, including India. Give me a rest.

“Chinese automakers are capable of making high-quality cars by themselves. They are able to produce more than 18 million cars a year, which has made this country the biggest market in the world. Under these circumstances, foreign investment will not be that necessary.(1)”

This means that “China will limit multinational automakers involvement in car manufacturing with an amendment that places stricter rules on foreign investors in the industry.(2)”

The result is that by the time this new rule was to take effect on January 31 :

a) all new auto businesses had to produce their engines locally
b) all foreign companies had to partner with a Chinese company and own less than 50% of the business entity in order to enter the Chinese market.
