Americans always manage to show the world how stupid and just plain dumb they we are, just ask our foreign friends. I remember when the Japanese were attempting to make cars in the 50's. Toyopet was Toyota and a real joke as were the others.I know because I served there in the military. Not too long ago Hyundai was in league with the Yugo.Look at Hyundai now. The racists who harp on the racially insensitive "fix it again Tony" are probobly the same racists who mock Blacks, Jews, and Hispanics and others. After all this is the USA. If they checked the facts about Fiat they would see that Fiat has the number 1 and number 2 selling cars in Europe and five years ago Fiat was given up for dead. A pity had it happened since the prior mentioned American geniuses would not have been able to mock Fiat's Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo,
Lancia, and that other famous Fiat product New Holland.

Fiat will back out of the deal once they realize just how bad off chrysler is. Even the Germans threw Chrysler back across the Atlantic.

Wow ! You say "Fiat has the number 1 and number 2 selling cars in Europe"
They must hide the cars well. I spent three weeks last May driving through Italy and surrounding country's and saw more BMWs, Audi's,Mercedes and VWs on the road than Fiats. As a matter of fact the only car dealerships I saw closed and out of business were Fiat.
I have nothing against Fiat, the rental car I drove was a Fiat Punto. Nothing I would buy but it had no problems for 3000 miles. I just doubt Fiat is that big a seller.

Fiat failed miserably the first time it sold in the US. The fix it again Tony saying was quoted by owners and Fiat mechanics alike. Some of the Fiat cars looked great but they were totally unreliable, kinda like the Yugo. No Italian bias here. I once owned a Maserati and it looked great but very unreliable also.
