Ontario could soon be identified by skyline

Full story: Inland Valley Daily Bulletin

The city has been called "the next urban center of Southern California." But what exactly does that entail? And what would such an Ontario be like? One image that could identify the city of the future is the ...

Make the place just like Orange County. It's so cool there, you can't even find a parking place at the grocery store in the middle of the day. Bring 'em in, more people, more people, lets stuff this place. I like the vision of higher population density than Hong Kong.

The city of Ontario is long overdue for this kind of transition into a major city/hub of the I.E. It has so much potential and many attractions. The land where they are planning to put all these skyscrapers is long overdue for something. its a HUGE area clearly seen from the 10 freeway. Vineyard ave, 4th St., and Archibald Ave. bound this area, and it's prime location. VERY near the LA/ONT airport, convention center, Ont. Mills, CBBank Arena, and Piemonte and Guasti.
I cannot wait.:)

More "Pie in the sky" dreams, more traffic in an already congested area. Why don't they look at cleaning up the blight that is most of Ontario.

Jamboree "Boulevard" (it's Road, by the way), is not 12 lanes, it's 4 in each direction at the widest point. 3 lanes elsewhere. If Ontario wants to catch up to Irvine they better start building. You can't drive within 2 miles of John Wayne Airport without seeing an apartment complex or office tower under construction.

Shut the hell up the only people I see begging for money are white trash bums and black bums on crack at least the mexicans are working and not begging in the street if you don't like living around Mexicans than move to another state like Alaska or any of the Dakota's where theres hardly any it's true that some of us are criminals but what race doesn't have criminals the majority of mexicans are hard working people who are not criminals being illegal is not a crime so move away if you don't like us you ignorant turd because we are not going anywhere

Blum/ Kroutil, what about the historic Guasti Village structures that were bulldozed so you can put up those "40-50 story high-rises"? Some things never change for "the better", unless you BREAK THE LAW.

Hey, I like my low-traffic commutes around town! and it's my area they want to convert! The airport area. They'd better leave the field between Vineyard, 4th, archibald, and IE blvd alone. I like the view from IE blvd on a clear day! If they must build there in the future, make sure to widen the streets beforehand.

Also what they did to Guasti pisses me off.

I enjoyed driving through there. I stumbled across a site a while back of the developer that is working on it. Apparently they are going to preserve the original buildings and restore them to how they used to be, and everything else will be bulldozed and made into an upscale shopping center/tourist trap for people visiting from the airport. gee, what we really need more of, over glorified stripmalls.

What has taken place in Guasti (or lackthereof) is a disgrace. Ooops... did we demolish more of the historic structures that were allowed???
From the former owner Clarke Pauley, to the new owner/developer, to the Ontario Planning Commission and City Council... FAILED.

it is, but at this point it doesn't shock me, Californians simply *DO NOT CARE* about history, developers here have bigger voices than the people, and the state is slow on preserving places because they like seeing the tax money coming from these developed places. Very few of us do care, the rest just want another place to get expensive trinkets and overpriced crap. There was this restaurant in Downey which was a historical landmark, it served as a car dealership for a while, new owners got it, knowing what it was, waited until the night to bring in bulldozers and demolish it just beyond the point of being able to restore it, they got slapped with a petty fine but the damage was done, and they ended up doing what they wanted to the place.
When I lived out east, they try to preserve as much of their history as possible. The only bits of history you can find here are in decaying photographs. Hollywood used to have some really awesome landmarks, which they bulldozed to make way for newer development which is all now essentially slums.

Failed public trust is reason enough to expect corruption within the organization, similar to the goings-on with the County government. Are they connected, you bet! Will the real Greg Devilreaux please stand-up, please stand-up, please stand-up?

Will the graffiti go all the way up to the top of the bldgs? That would be cool. Then it won't look like O.C.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Cancer

If you have children at home they'll be really playful today and quite a handful at times. Encourage them to burn off all their energy during the day otherwise it will be a case of tears before bedtime. There could also be a fractious atmosphere between you and a loved one, and this will quickly escalate into a row if you aren't careful.
