the italians are not racist, proof: they have voted a gypsy man winner of italian big brother 9. he's perfectly integrated, works legally and speaks italian, he has even said he finds gypsy traditions illegal and ugly. on the show he has thanked the policemen for having brought him away when 10 from his gypsy father who forced him to steal from people and houses, that's what fingerprints are for, to track back gypsy children exploited and give them to normal italian families.
This policy would only cause trouble in the long run. You cannot take people's children and give them to others. This was done in Australia with the aboriginal children and done in America with Indian children. It caused only trouble. In Australia they had an official day of apology for the practice. It was also done by the fascists in Argentina when parents disappeared. For such a policy you would be condemned by the world.

It might have caused some trouble and confusion for some but it probably saved a few people from jail too, I bet those people don't regret not taking up a life of crime. Just because a couple can produce a kid doesn't mean that they have the kid's best interests at heart, or that they are able to provide a life the kid deserves.

He is correct that many of the first Gypsies in Europe were promptly enslaved in the Balkans and at least as far as Hungary where they were only freed in the nineteenth century. I do not know if this was true in Italy or not, but as it was the practice across the Aegean it is possible that it took place in Italy as well.

i know albanians commit crime in italy, but most romanians that commit crime and beg in the street ESPECIALLY in England pretend to be Albanian... lol if you came to England you will see what i am talking about....
Tina...we're not talking about the UK here are we? As an American who has lived off and on, in Italy for almost 10 years, who's married to an Italian woman for almost 11 years, I fully support the Italian government in doing anything they have to do in order to remove the problem. In this case, it's the Roma. There's an old saying, "it's closing time, you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here"!

Mass Murderer? Wow, I'd say you need to back off the glue man...the only thing that Berlusconi is guilty of ruining are those girls virginity. But then again, that's not a punishable crime now is it. Reprehensible, yes, punishable no.

I am against violence, but when I saw Berlusconi, on the internet with his nose and part of his face coverd with bandage, I started to laugh, I said and will say it again, his sins are cathching up with him, and this is just a sample, the poor Italian Gypsies must have put a curse on him, for what he has done to them, because they are there I mean in Italy for centuries, and are more Italian then he is, and yet he did not get wise to it, it was trouble he wanted and he got it, because the Gypsies are always the scapegoats, so now he has a Gypsy curse on him, and it is not easy to get rid of it
