only 1/3 of twittering were located in Moldova, the rest abroad. Not that simple. 25% of Moldovan citizens live/work outside of Moldova. I live in the US. I was calling my family in Moldova, they told me what was going on and I posted twits. The same many Iranians live abroad but they have direct relation to Iran.

The main point not in how many people from Iran itself twit. The point is that governments of Moldova or Iran try to control old media (TV, papers) but people still speak out through Internet. And twitter is very good for that. And it is hard for those governments to control Internet. You will see more similar events in other parts of the world.
