Sure this brutality is islam. Always has been. What else is it?

Christianity used to be in the hands of brutal people.

Go figure it out. Quit the denial.

It would appear that a large part of the islam is under the control of satan. Since 1948 when they signed the UN Univeral Declaration of Human Rights satan has tightened his grip on islam and using it to thwart the Law of Love Jesus fulfilled and that had spread throughout the world to this day. Those religions that are close to the One True God, teach love and tolerance towards all God's creation.

Yes a common theme in fundamentalist religions, is that everybody else is wicked and of satan the Devil, where they alone are righteous and of God

This is not only Islam, but nearly every fundamental religion

We saw a program that an Islamic will only shake hands with an unbeliever with the hand he wipes his a..with...such is their disdain on those who don't believe, the same as them.

What I like about Jesus over Mohommed, is Jesus went looking for the lost sheep...People were precious to Jesus, he went to sinners to call them to repentence..Mohommed goes to sinners to kill and destroy.

Actually Islam cannot produce scientific achievements ... This is why Islamic nations are decades behind Europe... Somalia is the best example of the rewards of Islam. Stonings and suicide bombers. All non Muslims left decades ago... Islam will not tolerate people with the brains to leave!!!!

The point of the article went straight over your head. And everyone else who posted here too.
Religions and religious people shouldn't be judged solely based on the wrongdoings on some people belonging to that certain religion. There will always be people who will misuse their religion to justify their horrible acts, but just the same as we shouldn't judge all Christians and Christianity for countless of horrible acts throughout the years done in the name of their god and their religion we shouldn't judge all Muslims based on the wrongdoings of some people belong to Islam.

“There is a misguided assumption among many Muslims that such an abhorrent punishment is divinely mandated. It isn't.”
A natural consequence of religion - religion impedes rational thinking.

“Meanwhile the silence from the world's Muslims – especially the UK's usually voluble Muslim organisations and self-appointed "community leaders" – has been shameful.”
That is because they see their ‘culture’ as superior to western (or any other cultures). Again, typical religious thinking.

“Muslims have to ask ourselves: Is the God we worship so weak and needy that he requires us to force our fellow humans to worship him?”
What about the question: what or who is god and why on Earth would it want to be worshipped by bowing towards Mecca?

All religions should have equal rights. Best to dump all religion.

You have old childless men in positions of decision making.
Arab nations need young, educated people who want to build a future for their families and their nations.
These old men are outsiders, have no vested interest in the future of you nation, and are tyrants.

Muslims take to the streets when they are upset. They are therefore only upset at slights against Islam, they are never upset at their own evils.
But dump all religion? No, Jesus has been very good to me.

Brutality is, and always will be, a part of Islam as practiced by most Muslims. It's a way of controlling people, to prevent them from seeing the peace and love of Christianity and other faiths, because to even question Islam means sure death and family members are brainwashed to inflict this death sentence even upon their own family members, including children and wives.
If Islam is brutal, it makes certain it has followers who fear to uprise and fight against it because they know what the punishment is. So, like sheep, they follow even in the knowledge it is unhumane and senseless. They know nothing else and don't question. They have no freedom as others of non-Muslim faiths do, and for those who live in non-Islamic countries.
My question is why these Muslims leave Islamic nations in the first place to live among "the infiels" if they despise our way of living? The truth is they LOVE our way of living, of having sex with our women, of being in the West and all it has to offer but their "company line" is that we are all satan worshipers, are depraved, while THEY are the ones beating their wives, cheating on their wives, and raping their spouses and other non-Muslim women with whom they've indulging in adultery.
They are hypocrites---plain and simple. They are brutal beasts and worse than pigs, who are a much less violent species of animal.
"Christianity" has a bloody history as well...Crusades, Inquisitions, etc. Also, Christianity SHOULD be a rleigion of love and peace, but too many hide behind it and spit out hate and/or are just money beggars! Just look at people like John Hagee or American-Taliban wannabe, the late Jerry Falwell! Maybe they should re-read the teachings of JESUS aand His message of love, peace, tolerance, and HELPING THE POOR AND LESS FORTUNATE, which seems to be foreign to many of the Evangelical Right today...sad!
