Will Fukushima Force Iran to Reconsider Nuclear Program?

Apr 1, 2011 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: The Atlantic

The country's rogue energy program isn't worth the humanitarian danger, the economic cost, or whatever scant power it might provide While Japan's unfolding nuclear and humanitarian crisis resurrected longstanding fears in the West about the safety of nuclear power and the potential vulnerabilities of the world's over 400 operational nuclear power ...

Yeah, hope not. Providing for 70 million with petroleum based electricity is EXPENSIVE.
.
Not that the Sauds or Shell, British Petroleum, and Exxonmobil see anything wrong with THAT.

Japan should reconsider rather own nuclear programs, because nuclear power plants in Japan just like it is seen, it is big mistake and real danger for human lives.

And the oil platforms are not, huh?

If it's sooo "real danger" for human life, how come there are ZERO radiation fatalities, fearmonger?

Iran is endangered by earthquakes, but hopefully Iranian officials did not build these power plants in region of earthquakes but far away and these nuclear power plants are hopefully good and secure built and have some kind of resistance in case of earthquake. Tsunami is not problem of Iran, because there is no possibility of tsunami in Iran.

The foundation of reactor is design to sustain 8.6 on Richter scale . Japan should have turned dawn the reactor ,and prepare for accelerated cooling system .Tsunami took place away from main land ,but water transmit force much better then earth ,or even rock . Japanise are at fault . Good car designers ,but not much else ..

.
Prem, you should be ashamed, you are but one of many traitors selling your fellow humans to the British Sahib.

Petroleum plants can also cause their fair share of damage to the environment through fume and greenhouse effects. The reason anyone is freaking out over nuclear issues is because nobody expected a 9 point earthquake to hit Japan and damage the Fukushima Power Plant. Considering that Nuclear plants do less environmental damage when maintained well, isn't nuclear power technically safer?

Herr "Interesting",

Blathering about how Nuclear Powerplants need to be eradicated, but then it turns out you WORK for BigOil.

"Interesting" indeed.

finish us off? There are more than 6 billion people and nuclear reactors have killed about 60 people. How long will it take to get to even one tenth of us? Automobiles, fire and aircraft are doing a much better job, but even combined, they cannot keep up with human replacement rates.

Koz,

You misunderstood the guy.

"Interesting" was talking as a BigOil waterboy. If nuclear energy prospers, who will need his services? He and his ilk would indeed be "finished".

Global nuclear energy use in total energy basket globally will never ever surpass more than 2 percent mark.

A simple 2 tcf gas transport pipeline costing 6 billion dollars carries twice or thrice more energy than 20 reactors costing ove 50 billion dollars to generate only 8000 megawatts.

Not only accidental extinction dangers and virtually no survival remediation fears from nuclear reactors, the world does not have adequate materials or engineering to go mega nuclear that can replace even part of oil/gas/coal related energy.

Hang tough and keep on using oil/gas/coal/hydel etc. These are the only energies adequately rhere in world energy baskets. Why America never built a nuclear power plant on its soil since 1980.

I love my oil and gas and coal and related peace for all humans. To me all humans are too beautiful to be destroyed or killed.

And about sweet Persiana, I have lyrics from America's all time best voice of Nat King Cole, who sings in his very grand song,"Autumn Leaves " as such:

BUT I MISS YOU MOST OF ALL
WHEN AUTUMN LEAVES START TO FALL

Why they don't use solar energy? It s important that every building they build it appears on the top on the building.
If sciences discover a megapixel camera in zooming it's total distance by capturing object.why you don't improve solar energy??a centralize energy"
If a microscope magnifies tissues " why you don't improve solar energy??a centralize enery..
If they improve a Gigabits solar adaptor which is very simple no hassard to human..
To be configuring
