Tell you what I do know about Islam, after training & fought along side Arabic military for years, serving two combat deployments in that region. Islam is divided in 3 primary branches of thought, separated by 4 schools of thought, even more divided by at least 9 sub branches of thought. Seperated by multiple sub sects and schools of thought. It is no more capable of agreeing on a world conquest than Christianity is. Islam will never come together in agreement, Islam must conquer Islam first and its many schools of thought. Before it ever ventures into the realm of Glenn Becks fictional "Caliphate". Now what is it that you know about Islam?
Exactly right! The 'Caliphate' ruled from Baghdad in the early days and only ended recently in 1924 in Turkey was for most of it's existence purely symbolic, and it didn't apply to the whole Muslim world, and especially not in Iran and the Shia world.
All Muslims know that the Koran is mostly open to interpretation, and this is where your different schools of thought come into it. No Mullah can tell another Muslim what interpretation is the correct one to follow.
Basically, to be considered a Muslim one only has to believe in 'one' God and to recognise that Mohammad is the last prophet, and that's it, the rest of the five pillars are expected to be followed, but are not as important as the first.

Devin, you're a moron. Bombings became very popular with anarchists in Russia, Italy, and South America long before people started loading pipe with explosives in this country. China probably predates all other countries by several hundred years in malicious bombings. Do some homework. The North American city that experiences most criminal bombings annually? Montreal, Canada.
Most terrorist bombings happening in the world today, are done by separatist organisations that's where your Montreal bombers come into it.

How does that Change that Civilian Bombings are an American Tradition? A key component of domestic terrorism in America since before the Civil War.

Used to intimidate a suppressed population mostly in the south for more than 140 years of our 234 year existance? Again, bombings that emphasized civilian targets has been prefected as a stragegy here in America.

Just like any religion, you have the believers, the make believers and the unbelievers.

Unless one is fanatical, one does not really believe his/her book, because their book, as well as ours, leaves no room for lukewarm believers.

Your brain is locked on the antebellum Deep South. You should probably see a therapist about that.

Montreal has long been Canada's epicenter of organized crime, biker gangs, drug trafficking, etc. I don't think the FLQ, the major French-Canadian radical separatist movement, is very active anymore. Most of the bombings there are pipe bomb incidents -criminals bombing criminals.

We give aid to keep the governments that we deem agreeable, in place. By keeping the economic aspects of these countries somewhat stable, it help keeps the country stable. Preventing ground roots swelling of movements that may not be friendly to the US.
Also, we pay for military purposes. Like being able to have troops launch from the country if necessary.
Ask your Senator, they vote yes on these things. They can tell you.
We give billions to Israel also. Need to stop that.
My question is why do we give billions in tax credits, to oil companies experiencing record level profits.
Can we stop that?
Actually oil company profit margins run barely over 8% which is lower than food and beverage, are you against profit? What shold we do to the oil companies? Punish them? Drive them out of business so we are forced to buy ALL out oil from foreign companies? Great idea, we'll increase our debt and be forced to pay more for oil,$7 a gallon for gas would sure help our economy.

Let me guess you went to the liberal progressive school of economics. Silly job killing Marxist.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Leo

You're in a very idealistic mood today, making it almost impossible for you to view loved ones in their true colors. If they've got any faults you won't see them because you'll have blanked them out. This rosy vision of your nearest and dearest is fine if it doesn't last long but it will cause problems if it persists and you continue to brush any problems under the carpet.
