Full story: TwinCities.com

U.S. and Iraqi forces have killed the top two leaders of al-Qaida in Iraq and detained a large number of their followers, officials said Monday, in what appears to be a major strike against the persistent extremist group blamed for a string of recent bombings that have destabilized the nation.

I'm shocked. I'm speechless. The media actually published something we did well.

I'm surprised with the current administration that they are not ordering the troops to give hug therapy.

"persistent" extremist group? I would expect this PC labeling from the Red Star Tribune, but not the PP. al-qaida is not "persistent," it is a violent group of muslim extremists, period. Somebody please explain how or why using the word "persistent" to describe an organization of cold-blooded fanatical killers is necessary in the context of reporting the news. Very disappointed PP.

Really, you do have something to back that up I assume.

And just so you know "vet" The admins do not catch anyobdy. It's the hard working men and women on the ground that do. As I Vet I would thought you would know that. Apparently not.

If they are Muslim and armed with the intent to attack US troops, shoot first and ask questions later.

President Bush was a strong leader. He didn't have to gloat after every kill, or capture. Obama needs all the good news he can find or make up. He will find a way to make it up to his Muslim friends.

What a joke Shady Lady. All Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld ever did was gloat, break laws, lie and give up the fight in Afghanistan. You know, the real Al Qaeda that attacked us, not the franchise in Iraq.

The Messiah apparently doesn't run the Iraqi forces that dug up the intel and conducted this operation.

What will change? Osama will just replace them with new ones that have been just as highly trained and just as brainwashed into believing the extremist views. America needs to get out of the middle east and let them figure stuff out on their own.
