I just wish fans would stop comparing him to his father, he wants to his own man.
I believe that he does, you're right. They just interviewed him & of course they asked him what would it mean to him to be the first father/son to win the brickyard, if he were to win. He just looked at them, like "idiot" and said we all want to win. Something like that anyway, I'm not quoting exactly. But the meaning of it to me was, he just wants to win & not because his father won there, who cares.

I think the media is what perpetuates that little problem. They want him to be his dad. If they would stop comparing him to his dad then I think it'd go away.
I agree. Did you see Smoke's new subway commercial?

You're right. Everytime they mention his father he gets irritated, I know I would.

I saw it two weeks ago and was looking for it on youtube but no one posted it. This time he went to space, that was new to me. Funny stuff.

Jr should just walk away from any idiot commentator that asks him that kind of question or better yet slap them up side of the head. They're out of line.

Actually Junior usually wins most POPULAR driver. I'm sure Rowdy has earned some fans, but people still LOVE Junior because he's a genuine nice guy.
He doesn't spin people out to win. Maybe he SHOULD watch more videos of his Daddy and learn how to be more INTIMIDATING!
No, he doesn't spin other drivers out, just himself to bring a caution when he needed one. Wouldn't you call that a dirty move?

It was one time and he got busted. It's over and done with.

What did you call smokers pushing a usac official a clean move?

I was just making a point that Jr. spun himself out to bring out a caution for his benefit after someone said he never spun other drivers. This was on the track, not anything to do with an official.

He still did it, didn't he? He didn't have to wreck anybody, just did it for his own benefit.

Yes he did. That was a long time ago. Time to move on. He's not a bad guy.

I never said Jr. was a bad guy. I was just pointing out that he does have some flaws. Nobody is perfect. But, what he did by spinning himself out was not the right thing to do.

I believe that was in '06, right? If he had kept his mouth shut he wouldn't have been fined. He's grown up alot since then. What's the difference between him and Robbie G.? Robbie did the same thing cause he needed a caution too. Robbie could have hurt someone if the pipe had bounced and hit the car behind him. Jr. spun himself out when he wasn't close to another car. If you want to talk about "bad" drivers point your finger at Robbie.

I would have liked to smack that reporter who asked Dale Jr. about the Father/Son win. The look on his face told everyone what he was thinking. I just wish they would do an interview w/ Jr. and for once not mention his father. He probably wished that too. It's got to be getting old.

Well, it wasn't like Jr. was at the tail end of the pack or the only car on the track. As fast as those cars move, another driver could have easily come by and wrecked both of them or caused a big pileup.
At the time, enough was said about Robbie Gordon. But, you have to realize that being the most popular driver, Jr. was talked about more.
