This just seems like a way for those who are jealous of Patrick's success to get back at her. On the other hand, given the fact that weight clearly does play into speed, her weight certainly does give her a slight advantage.

She still ran a pretty solid race, I don't think this will play as much of a factor in ovals as it will in street/road courses...

The Indycar Racing Series is putting this into affect ONLY because a female can equally compete with a male. I'm straight, but this is nothing more than a sexuality sitiuation. If Danica Patrick was a male, I don't believe there would be a change. Danica Patrick is the reason that my wife and I got interested in Indy cars. Formerly, we were only NASCAR fans. Thank all you officials for making the new rules to screw everything up. By the way, any females help make that decision?

Danica's win today was all down to fuel management. Read her and her team's comments confirming that. If IndyCar had not equalized the weights of the cars and drivers, as every other racing series does already, then the critics above would have claimed that Danica's win was due to her lighter weight. Now they cannot, despite the fact that Danica was not the fastest car during the race. She won on strategy, but that is no less a valid way to win when the weights are equalized.
