"Do you have to be an athlete to race cars," the answer is "No."

It is obvious that motor-racing is a competition and a business for the after-market and the sponsors of racing are really the #winner.
Especially since the racing series encourages little boys and girls to put their career auto racing above education. American sports like Football, "the all American sport" does not allow its athletes to be paid until AFTER college..Pro-ball has high standards for athletic development..
Professional Auto racing is an adult entertainment activity and a venue for show-casing related products and after-market engineering. There is a time and place for professional auto-racing IMO and although it is a sport that is appreciated by the U.S. military and law enforcement across our land, they use it to advertise and recruit the men and woman who want to be all they can be... Auto racing is lauded as a military promotion for the brave and the strong. Yes...and it is also subsidized by our wonderful obviously it is a tool for the military and not a sport... People can be many things in America unlike Europe and our freedom isn't free even if the activiies are sanctioned because they take place on private property, as described by NASCAR recently after Kyle Busch was excused for his criminal activity.

The SPEED channel is really a disgrace to our educational standards for our kids in the USA so if you want athletic status then go by the USA athletic standards. Stay in school and eliminate the entitlement programs because hopefully there is life after the racing circuit.

This past year at the Indy 500 it was so obvious that auto racing is NOT "athletic" because "ride buying" is in the rules and you can't have it both ways. The car qualified "not the driver"....the driver was inter changeable.

Its all about the sponsors and has no established rules as we have all seen as of late. God Speed and God Bless America..the land of the free and the brave.
