Too soon for Indy 500 coverage. Concentrate on the race in Brazil 10 days from now.

Formula One cars are ugly but they are interesting.

Last year I switched our 3 cars to 100% gasoline for our GASOLINE engines(duh!), to get away from the ethanol. MPG for the 3 went up 8%, 7-8% & 6%. The 3 engines run smoother, quieter, & need less downshifting to ascend hills. Go to pure-gas.org for addresses & a great zoomable map to find the minority of 5000+ stations(10 for every 350) selling 100% pure gasoline.

How did the ethanol industry got power to dilute gasoline to put ethanol in american GASOLINE engines? The ethanol industry & gov't lie about the loss of mpg from the use of 10% ethanol, saying only 2-4%. Even that is too much, but my experience AND the experience of tens of thousands of other drivers who carefully track their mpg losses, say that losses are much greater than gov't & the ethanol industry says.

The big teams will "buy" cars for some folks just to fill the field or make qualifying half-way interesting. At least that fat-arsed Brian Barnhardt won't be there hogging the camera before the drivers qualify while he explains "now, turn left out of the pits and give me 4 good ones...", then shakes their hand. What a joke!

What that sport needs is a good pit fire!

It's been all down hill for Indy car racing ever since they adopted the NASCAR business model. Maybe they can take out a jet dryer at Indy this year; it's been the highlight of the NASCAR season.

A good jet dryer wreck is always entertaining. That and of course, the pits blowing up!

I'm Sure Juan Pablo Montoya could get right in a Indy car and slam into a jet-dryer, just to show 'em how it's done lol...

As bad as Indycar has become, the 500 will be ten times as entertaining as the A$$CAR 600 that day, no question about it. This even after Tony George ruined open wheel racing in the USA.

The F1 race is by far the best as they are every other week. The A$$CAR parade will be the worst and most boring as it is every week.

The morons running NASCAR into the ground should move the 600 to Saturday or Monday, so a few driver could compete in both the 500 and 600. It would be good for both NASCAR and the IRL.

A$$CAR is joke anymore and the "parades" are as boring as watching paint dry. Thanks to Fat Helton and the Drunken Baby Whale France.

If you lose 2-4% with 10% ethanol then you are still using6-8% less oil from foreign enemy nations. You are putting more americans to work(paying taxes instead of collecting benefits)and reducing the need for so many milatary abroad protecting big oil profits(a cost we all pay).We will have to find energy other the oil sooner or later.

Of course, you don't believe me when my records indicate that 10% ethanol blends decrease mpg by 6-8%, instead of the lie 2-4% that the ethanol industry says. & after consideration that a gallon of ethanol takes more fossil-fuel to produce than fossil-fuel is used to 1 gallong of fossil-fuel, it is a joke that ethanol lowers fossil-fuel consumption. Yes, you listen to lies of the ethanol industry as they wave the american flag.

Also, diverting lands to produce ethanol for vehicles, instead of using land to produce food for people, puts feeding vehicles ahead of feeding people.

Correction:
'used to 1 gallong of fossil-fuel' should be,
'used to produce 1 gallon of fossil-fuel'.

Actually, except for the Indy 500, nobody really cares about the IRL, the new cars are ucking fugly and there is not an American rooting interest in the field. Racing, in general, is having a bad year, however, The IRL has had a bad five to seven years.
I agree with much you say about the IRL. And yes those cars are ugly, what could they be thinking? The Indy 500 is still the premier auto race in the United States.
