I wonder if he means a "huge crowd" by IRL standards (20-25,000) or a "huge crowd" by the standards of other events at M/O?

Yeah, big for IRL, not big for other sporting events.

Go figure, the first race TK doesn't try to blow by danica, he runs into her after she bobbles, then takes out his own teammate.

Much less exciting than the F1 in Germany though, with half the field sliding off in the rain...the difference being that the rain doesn't stop them, one of the bright spots about f1. I fell off the sofa laughing when I saw 5 cars slide into the same gravel trap over the course of 30 seconds.

I have to admit that was "the wow factor" i could not believe that happened! one race car hit the tow truck, did you see that? Omg,it all moved so fast i could not keep up with who was who and the broadcasters could not either, lol

The IRL racing at Mid-Ohio makes you realize just how RANK AMATEUR those drivers are.
That was some downright gawd awful boring racing on a track that is historically a terrific track to race on.
Cart/ChampCar ALWAYS put on some of their best shows there.

But the IRL, in their quest to follow the old CART into every abandoned track and mimick their every hated move sure put on a crappy show.

That sucked gomer wang even by their pathetic standards.

Oops, let me preface my comments by adding that Scott Dixon ran a terrific race. His team and crew did a great job in the pits and there was nobody out there with his talent today.

Kudos Scott. You deserve better than this 2nd rate IRL gig.

Recommendation to AGR. Sell advertising on the bottom of Marco's car. Looks like you are missing a great opportunity.

You cannot judge crowd size at Mid Ohio by pictures on the TV... The experience of being there in person is the tell all sign.

However, on another note... it was the worst start to date for the IRL... It should have at the very least been waved off with a yellow. Castroneves was more than two car lengths ahead of Danica, who was being swallowed up by TK and Marco. If they CANNOT get a start right, maybe they should consider standing starts on the left/right courses.

The buzz has to be starting. Who's gonna get the axe on which teams??? I can think of at least 5 who need to be looking for new rides.

Chump Car was boring today. IRL race was boring today. Moto GP race was boring today. F1 was very exciting! Can you believe that? F1 is usually by far the most boring race of the day. The only American, Scott Speed, will probably be fired within a few days. He boss "assaulted" him today. F1 even had the drama of the day!

Whether I watch the IRL race or not, I am always anxious to hear the post-race comments from Danica the Grate. Seems she always is blaming someone else for her problems. Such a treat to listen to.

I would agree. Danica is, beyond a doubt, the first race car driver in history to blame an incident on the other driver. She's such a bitch!

Again, I'm NOT a Danica fan; however, she did admit to having a tough time holding it through the corner. The responsibility is still on the driver's shoulders behind her to "drive" around her trouble. TK didn't do it. Even Michael stated it was TK who started it. I, too, would make the comments Patrick made - she was not whining or blaming - she simply stated the facts.

In my opinion, and I agree with Rusty, it was a start that should not have happened. Waive it off, and make them come around again, properly lined up, two-by-two.

Hats off to Dixon for three in a row...

Looking for rides next year:
1. Castroneves
2. Wheldon
3. Kanaan

Great job Scott. Awesome race. I don't know about anyone else but I thoroughly enjoyed it. First lap incident. Front running cars dropping back or goign off and working back through the field, Change of lead during pitstops, fuel strategy. There were many aspects that made this an exciting race and the best guy won also.

I think it is safe to say that Scott Dixon owns the raod courses. Those who think RHR will give the regular IRL drivers a lesson in road courses are sadly mistaken. Scott Dixon will be the teacher. Class will be in session again August 26 in Sonoma.
