Ski...I don't know if you saw me talking about it on the other Franchitti thread...but one of my brother's had a kitchen wall emergency on Saturday and we were at his house Sunday morning helping him get finished so we could all head to Joliet. We ended up pulling into the parking lot abut a half-hour before the green flag fell. Gotta get down to Indy to visit! Sorry, man.

That ending blew me away. I didn't think that Dario or Scott would have a fuel problem there at the end. Scott must be totally blown away...

My point is this: Dario is the highest paid driver in the IRL. Ganassi would have to at least double that salary for it to make sense for Dario. I still have to see that to believe it.
(Hon...god love ya...but nascar races are not always sold out!:)

They have been this yr.Gotta luv ya too but sweetie, there are more people at Nascar races! I love Indy too,but they barely can sneak in a pre-race show and they get moved around from ABC to ESPN and back to ABC,that never happens in Nascar Cup races! Irl i love but the minute you turn the Tv on it's the Green flag,i like the Intro's and the Interviews and all, they don't do that in the IndyCar races! The seats are never loaded all yr,only the Indy 500(one race).

NASCAR will always have its core fans (I know you're one of them!). I was just making the point that Dario could not, posibly, find the drudgery of double the number races, with a comparatively unsophisticated car, all that attractive. And not at the age of 34 particularly! Ganassi would have to at least double an already million-dollar-plus annual salary and I just have to see it to believe it. It may very well happen...I simply can't believe it.

And, as you know!!!!...I keep close watch on nascar's tv ratings. They have not been in a "growth cycle" in at least three seasons now (it's also well-known that they don't sell out many of their races here lately).

NASCAR will always be huge, don't get me wrong. But I just wonder when some of the you know what finally starts to hit the fan with nascar's sponsors.

It's Target that allows Chip Ganassi to double Dario's salary offering and steal him away from AGR and the IRL. How long will that gravy train last? Target's ad agency sees the tv numbers...when will they finally say, "Hey! How about a little break on our fees to your team? The tv numbers are stagnant and have been for years!"

It's been too easy for nascar for too long. That sort of "not having to work for it" never lasts forever.

...the IRL and Champ Car settling their differences and forming one league would go a long way towards making nascar sweat a little bit!

Oh! I know you could probably change a lift out and leave me in the dust on the project :)...but this TV talk is like shootng gold fish in a bowl for me!

NASCAR's season will have been viewed on six (6) different "wired" networks this season. Fox, SpeedTV, TNT, ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC. The season will end out on ABC with nascar's little contrived bit of excitement they refer to as the "Chase." Didn't they chage the rules for it again this year??:):)

You know you're cool in my book! Just havin fun...

Ok,i think we have beat this in the ground dear, but if it goes by the wayside in the Irl or Nascar,i will still be there to watch it! It's like Fottball,my 49er's suck but they will always be the team i root for regardless because i watched them when Montoya was the bomb and Jerry Rice was there still playing better than the younger "new" guys!(football sorry)So,it's all about the love of a sport and not waiting for your sport to crash, live in the moment, same goes for everything in life! ;-)
