I actually, for the first time in almost 2 years, watched a few laps of the Daytona race. In my opinion, pushing and blocking is not racing, and I am glad I watched 15 or 20 laps, confirming that I have no interest in this style of racing, and without someone (Jeremy) to pull for. L8R. DD.

I'm kinda in the same boat. All 3 races were a joke & so were 2 of the winners. My main series is the Truck Series & my favorite wasn't in the Truck race. Worst of all, a flat tire made 1 of my guys cause the big one in the Truck race that wiped out all but 1 driver my 4 buddies combined root for. They got mad at me for that (Tradition). I will NOT watch the Daytona Truck race or Fluketona 500 next year cause of it.

It's all about strategy. If you ask me, if one guy is willing to push another it means that he'd rather not win. I actually enjoyed this year's Daytona 500.

The nationwide series is a joke since half those drivers run the cup series full time and I'm glad that Nascar made them chose to compete for the championship in one or the other and not both.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the racing Dan. I'm positive that if your Methhead name sake had been there, the race would have been the best ever! NOT!!! Step-Momma Mayfield says she accepts his apology and sends her love. How's that suit against NASCAR coming?

I will always be a Jeremy Mayfield fan and hope he can compete in some sort of racing in the future. It would be great if he could get into the NHRA since that would be my best chance to see or meet him in the near future.I really dont believe he is a meth head but I am looking with blinders on since he WAS my favorite driver.I really miss the days of going to Michigan speedway with my Mayfield flag and t-shirt and wearing it proudly. How is Jeremys old racing team #19 doing these days, didnt see too much of them at the race this Sunday.JM was always mad and saying some things to piss off alot of people when his team was not performing well.Show me a good loser and I will show you a loser.

Amen, Irish Fan! The young man that won Sunday had better be very careful...they (NASCAR) can make you, and they can break you. It was a good story, just what NASTYCAR needed for the 21 to win, just as it did in 1963 with Tiny Lund. Whatever happened to Ward Burton, also a Daytona 500 victor? How about Jeremy in drag racing? I will go see him! L8R. DD.

I too would love to see that! Sicne that NASCAR Race Hub interview, my fear in terms of him has for the moment subsided. I would love to see him in the NHRA or maybe even Indycar.

It won't be long before the NHRA takes over as THE top US Motorsport!...

I'm a little more into the Indy car series right now myself, but Drag Racing is cool too. It almost seems to me that Danica Patrick and Ashley Force are becoming the faces of Motorsports because they are the most successful females in them. Nascar is already trying to bring Danica over and develop her into a cup series contender. I think she's better off sticking to the Indy cars myself, but I think it's a publicity thing myself.

You may want to hold that thought on Ashley Force-Hood. She will not be racing this year... Shes having a baby!... congrats to her.

I too think Danica should stay in Indycar. NASCAR is only using her for the ratings...

Anyone remember Lori Johns or Shirley Muldowney? They were not just out there making an appearance...they were good. I'd like to see Jeremy in a bad ass pro stock Ford Mustang! L8R. DD.

Did you ever hear the reason for the "Purple" #22? Ford was not real happy with Fireball because of his leaving the company to drive Pontiacs in the very early 60s. When Pontiac left people like Weatherly went to Mercury and Fireball wanted back with Holman and Moody. They told Fireball they already had their first line driver with Freddie Lorenzen, however, they would see what they could do. Ford, after much thought, said that Fireball could come back but they told Holman and Moody to paint the damn car Lilac as a put down to Roberts. 1964 was a very tragic year with the losses of Fireball, Lil Joe, Billy Wade and Jim Pardue.
