I concur Michael.

All very good points. However, better road maintenance would also help. We should be spending our transportation funds more wisely. Patching pot holes with cold patch and paving temporary "dig outs" is not the best way to spend our limited recourses. "Beautifying" our ramps is also taking money from true improvements.
Do we realize how much of every dollar designated for road maintenance is spent on design (same design as ten miles up the road) and red tape and bureaucratic nonsense by CalTrans?

The writer expressed my sentiments exactly. I used to work in the automotive department of a major retailer. We'd get someone wanting a radar detector at least once a day. After complaining about the prices they all said the same thing, "But I can't afford another ticket." I also said the same thing, "Two words; SLOW DOWN." What is this sense of entitlement people have today that makes them think that the laws donít apply to them?
