I assume this headline should read, "Hoosier Park Slot Parlor to Open in June" instead of "casino." Am I wrong or are they limited to slots? There won't be table games, correct?

Maybe there could be an announcement of an axle plant opening really soon.

This slot parlor will probably draw people from French Slick. That's a boring place that doesn't pay out enough. Nice winding drive down there if you can miss the deer.

Bring on the mathematically and mentally challenged. You know, the ones that see the folks winning in the commercials. Lame brains.

We are going to get the participants in this industry so diluted that they are all going to struggle. Watch some of them start to die off.

Indiana continues to suckle the casinos, lottery, pull-tabs, and horse racing... yet we're a poor, poor state. I wonder if there's a connection?

How much money did you win last time you went to a sporting event, or a concert, or a play, or a movie, etc? You realize that the odds of winning money while partaking in the forms of entertainment you enjoy are far less than they are in a casino, right? A math major should be able to figure that out.

People go to casinos for entertainment. As long as I spend my entertainment budget on something I find entertaining, it is money well spent regardless of what you think. I'm sure you spend money on things that I find extremely boring and wasteful... I'm just not arrogant enough to pass judgement on you for spending your money differently than I would.

If the seat was a toilet, I'd never move from the slot machine.

The boats on Lake Michigan and those on the Ohio River will probably suffer but I think its great that people like me in Indy can drive a much shorter distance for their entertainment. I'm eagerly waiting.

Just slots will attract the Blue Hairs (old folk) but why no table games yet? We all know they are leaning towards Gambling! Just pull the trigger Indiana...lets get a bonofide Gaming place and lets fill up these potholes on the streets!!

They need to figure out how to tax poker so that we can legally play hold'em. But hey, that's a game of skill and the house does not have a favorable advantage, so it will probably never happen...

Slot money = larger purses for the ponies = a higher quality of racing & full fields = more pari-mutuel money for the real gamblers!

What is needed is a couple of casinos in Indianapolis. One should be located at Lafayette Square to replace the rotting infrastructure there. Parking is already available and even public transportation is in place. The other could be downtown near the new convention center. All the money generated for the city/state could replace sales and property taxes.
