NASCAR 2013 season: Danica Patrick, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. ready to race for rookie of the year title

After three seasons during which the Sprint Cup Series didn't have two full-time rookies, two high-profile drivers will battle for the rookie title in 2013.

Have the feeling right now that Ricky will out perform Danica every week but she will still get the award.

During the final race weekend, a panel rates a rookie and rewards favorable conduct in the following categories: conduct with NASCAR officials in the garage and pits; conduct and awareness on the track; personal appearance; and relationship with the media. The panel rates each driver, with 10 being the highest. The total points will be averaged from each panel member’s ballot. If this is part of the process they might as well give it to her right now.

must be nice for Hendrick to get the rules changed for ROY , to be in the rookie class you cannot run more than 7 cup races the year before , been that way for ever , until Danica , I like to see women in nascar but she is a whinner , give a ride to Cobb...she has earned it..
