You know, back when we were the land of the free, and home of the brave. When people did their jobs out of a sense of pride in doing their jobs, not to be considered heros. Police are necessary, paramedics are necessary, DR's, and lawyers (unfortunately)are necessary, nurses are necessary, volunteer soldiers are necessary (sadly). You want heros, those that were drafted, and served in the military WW1, WW2, Korea, Viet Nam. Those that gave their lives because the nation called them up, and they had no choice. Certainly, soldiers today can be considered heros, because, in theory, they choose to defend our nation. What does a paramedic do normally, as a part of their job, that is considered heroic? A job choice that they made, nobody forced them. Time to take the beagle babys for a walk. Reagan was a crook who hated churches and started taxing them. He ruined the USA til Clinton saved it.

Running from something, homeless, back child support, drug problems. Joining up infantry gives them the false sense that they arent the horse poop they really are. Whatever makes their willy seem bigger and rocks them to sleep at night.

But after reading the posts it was about WW2. Those men volunteered to go to not just defend their country but also families. The ones that waited to get drafted not so much. Sorta like cowards. People like Ralph.

Sort of like the hometown heroes that have suddenly enlisted/re-enlisted now that the draw downs are in full force.
