Bad TV . . . Bad!

When it comes to sports on television, I'm a big dork. I watch as much as possible.

You slam Big 10 volleyball? You do realize it's the only sport the Big 10 can compete against the rest of the nation? Football... the MAC is better. Basketball... OSU was good, but without Big-O Butler could win the Big 10. Maybe you should actually watch one of those volleyball games instead of looking at the tv guide. You may actually see real student athletes that can compete on a national level. And yes, I'm a guy who played D-1 football.

Actually I think it is awesome. Okay the programming midweek is less appealing, but out of interest of what is on I caught a couple of "classics" which were refreshing to watch for a few after being there live in person several years ago.

Obviously the best programming is on saturdays. Every BT game (not on ESPN or ABC) is on subchannels of the BT network. Now you can watch any game not just the game that was on the local network

The writer is a big dork and must not have much of a life the BT channel is fun to watch and I love it on Saturday. It will get better it has to it is only about 1 month old. What does IU fans have to complain about the BT channel is the only reason IU is on TV

What makes me mad is when they schedule one game, and then show a different game without any warning.

They have about four separate Big Ten network channels. I set my TIVO to tape a game, but they switch it to one of the other channels, and the wrong game was taped.

I looked for a replay of the same game, set the TIVO again, and they again swicthed to a different game/channel.

Bad article jeff. Big Ten is just what I wanted. To watch the Hoosiers play on Saturday and other big ten games. Can't wait until basketball season.

I agree that the programming during the week actually non existant.

I would like to see more volleyball, soccer, cross country. They aren't showing anything during the week, but old news.

Not much to miss in the Big 10. Suggest that the Big 10 Network switch to the SEC! Maybe NBC might consider something similar. I can hardly wait to watch ND's first win.(well, maybe against one of the service academies).

Jeff,

The Big Ten Network is NOT, "The first network devoted to a single college conference". Mountain West Conference started their own network a year ago with CSTV and Comcast as the equivalent of BTN having FOX.

I think it is awesome that I get a chance to watch Big Ten Sports from Texas and that the smaller sports are getting some recognition. Those kids work just as hard as the football players and basketball players, and deserve it. It has also had a positive effect on the attendance of those sports.

Given that the Star dropped its Purdue reporter, I don't think it is in position to put down another outlet's Big Ten coverage.
So far so good

I've kind of enjoyed some of the mis-week programming. The volleyball, soccer, field hockey that you normally would not get to see unless you were on campus. Four only a month old, I'm pretty happy with it.

Let's see...When the season is all over IU will most likely play 7-8 games all of which will be aired on the B10 network, most in HD. So exactly how does this network stink? Anybody who has time to watch all the said programming or is actually hoping to watch Northwestern and Penn State in Badminton has got some issues. Go Hoosiers! Beat Iowa!

IU sold out a lot of fans going to BTN. When they go back on cable who will be there? It's always about money no matter what loyalty speech the universities give their fans. Sad!
