Yep, Jim suggests you have the government and other people solve your problems. If you don't like working 13 hours a day get a new job.

Am I missing something? What did Kobe do? Other than be a big cry baby about fouls?
Kobe Bryant was accused of rape in 2003. I can't believe you never heard of it!

Why? Their games make a ton of money for the state.
It is called free enterprise. These teams are FOR PROFIT, they pay exhorbitant salaries, get tax breaks, AND money from the taxpayers to help fund their new playhouses (which 95% of the people cannot go to and who see no benefit of a stadium's existence).
If the TEAM can't afford a new stadium, on their own, out of their own profits, they need to fold or move on.

Gosh - you and nblsvle dad are sure happy to hear a woman say that she likes sports.
You may need to know that I come with an 18-year old daughter, 3 dogs and a lot of attitude.
However, on the flip side, I won't be whining on sundays for a man to go shopping with me and when it comes to the 'big' games I can throw a helluva party and make awesome food - just don't expect me to play hostess, I've got a game to watch!

I don't believe that?!!
Well, with about 500 auto accidents to 1 motorcycle accident, it might be believable.

Oh, yeah I know about that, but the person I was replying to made it sound like it was something more recent. They said something about Michael Vick and Kobe Bryant so I was under the impression that something NEW happened with Kobe. My bad! Also, didn't the girl that said she was raped get an out of court settlement for the Kobe thing? And didn't his wife get a huge rock as a "I'm-trying-to-cover-my-b utt-so-you-don't-take-half-of- everything-I've-got" present?

Yes!
I didn't get to go to a single game last season. I did end up coming over on a last minute weekend trip and tried to get tickets from a scalper but they wanted me to pay $125! The guy even tried feeding me some line about what a 'tough game' it was going to be and that's why the tickets were so high.
Okay - I'm a woman but I'm not an idiot! The Colts were undefeated and the team we were playing (I don't remember who it was now) was 7-5. Sure - it's going to be a tough game. Jerk.
Hmm - I think I may still be feeling a bit of resentment.. Sorry about that! But feel free to jump in and complain about scalpers.
I am sooo excited. We plan our weekends around the Colts! But, I must say, aside from the crowd silliness, football is better watched on TV than live (in my opinion).

I was thinking over the weekend that this country REALLY needs to open up the free enterprise system and competition. Allow Mexican companies to bid on government or other contracts in this country to build roads, buildings, etc. It they want to pay them minimum wage and no benefits, that would be up to them. They would be responsible for all the people they bring with them. First arrest is automatic deportation. They could pay the county income tax where they are working and the employee portion of Social Security. Maybe they could even jire some people here and take them back with them. Would the companies here **** a brick or what!!!!

That is what "Free Enterprise" is all about. The job goes to the lowest bidder. Period. Consumers can buy the least expensive goods and services. Worker benefits, safety, etal, would have no oversight. IF you don't like your job, or you're not paid enough, or whatever, look for another job. If you get hurt at work, tough. Heal and then go find a new job. 18 hour days? No problem. If you don't like it - look for another job or go hungry. Children working? Good education? Who needs to read? Let those parents who are rich enough and want to pay for school, let 'em find one. Consumer safety? "Let the buyer beware!" If you get sick or hurt, just don't buy that product again. If some medicine makes you sick (or sicker) just don't buy it again.

I like to see you hit a 95+ mph fastball, I would like to see you be able to take a hit from a 350 lb defensive end, I would like to see you play in the scorching heat of summer with an extra 20-30 pounds of equipment. Obviously you haven't watched soccer they don't play for 90 minutes straight, they have subs that come in and out of the game, and they only sprint in short spurts and its only a couple of guys.
...and all of that will end world hunger and bring about global peace, because sports are our salvation.
