While I can understand all the negative posts, the one thing everyone should ask themselves is "Are the other builders in your area any better?" There are multiple builders in my subdivision and guess what. They all use the same people to build their homes. I've owned my newest Centex home for three years and my previous Centex home for seven years. There are a few short cuts that were taken, but I do think that if you are building from ground up you should be at your house every day. It's hard to cover up work if you see what's going on every day. Unless you are having a CUSTOM built home you will get cheap supplies from builders. They don't care about the materials they use they only care about saving money to make money.

Just wondering if you know anyone having problems getting their earnest money back? We were in a contract with a fox an jacobs home in Fate Texas development (Spring Meadow) and had our pre approval letter from another source. We tried taking advantage and applied with Pulte mortgage (under same umbrella as centex) when we were denied. First they (sales person) said it will be 6 weeks to receive our refund then he changed it to 12 weeks and we are on week 14 and still no check in the mail. I must also mention the "check sent to wrong address" excuse and the "its in the mail" and two weeks later (today) and have nothing in my hands. Can some one please tell me if they had the same experience with them. Absolutely I will never consider them for a future purchase.

I feel everyone's pain, if you ask me, get an attorney and sue them! Centex is joke of a home builder, they can build homes if there life depended on it. The bottom line they DONT care. I am currently suing Centex, post tension slab, guess what? It's not a post tension slab! I have no grade beam footing at the perimeter of the house, cracking on the concrete, electrical, plumbing, HVAC problems, defective equipment, fireplace-dishwasher-microwave all broken, cracking on shearwalls, cracking at intersecting walls, nails coming through drywall, stucco cracking, windows and doors hit jambs. Centex has no idea on how to build homes for the customers, they care only about themselves and their attorneys, spread the word stay away from either Centex and pulti homes
