The furnace and hot water heater would have been in the basement, but all that was needed was an open basement door the leads into the ground level living area. The gas would escape the basement area and occupy the highest point in the house. The gas would fill the entire upper floors before a combustible mixture would occupy the basement. But eventually, the concentration gas to oxygen mixture would eventually rise to that combustible mixture at basement furnace level and end up igniting a blast that has two stories of highly concentrated gas that would cause on helluva explosion. Wrong. Homes today are usually built on slabs with the furnace and water heaters upstairs in a mechanical room.

Not all new homes are built on a slab.

All this is just not right. I feel for the people in that subdivision that need/want answers and are not getting them. This woman on video saying they were at a casino that night and she boarded her pet cat for one night because if its left at home its too stressed? And she said she works muliple jobs to make the house pymt? But shes at the casino the night it blows up? And in previous stmts she has a restraining order against her husband that lives in Noblesville.

Anybody heard anything about the man supposedly seen with the boyfriend, Mark Ray Leonard, at the house shortly before the explosion? MRL has quite a criminal history, but I can't find anything on the internet about David Gill. Also was it proven that MRL was on a dating site telling ladies he was going to get insurance money?

She's not my kind of person; anyone who shacks up with a guy while her twelve year old daughter lives with them speaks volumes about her character. However, it still may not mean that any of them directly or even indirectly caused the explosion. Regardless, let's hope law enforcement is scrutinizing all of their lifestyles and their past criminal history. It seems strange to me, since experts say it takes everything lined up just right to cause that type of explosion, then what happened hopefully is a fluke. Neighbors in that area as well as anyone else for that matter, have reasons to be very concerned. If the cause cannot be found, what keeps this disaster from happening again?

Well! You have surely opened up a can of worms. The plot is starting to thicken IF what you have heard is the truth. Let me do some wild-eyed speculation here. MRL decides,(probably along with girl friend Ms.Shirley), that the only way out of keeping her house out of foreclosure is to burn it down. Otherwise, this seems rather too convenient that they send her young daughter over to a friends house that evening, kitty is kept safe in a kennel, and they decide to go gambling. Or, if MRL planned it and no one else was aware of it, that could be explained if it is true their more valuable clothing and items also went up in the explosion. And how about his stuff? Did he get everything out first that was important to him? The problem is of course, if they did and have hidden their belongings well; it appears the explosion site is in such shambles I doubt authorities would be able to tell if anything truly valuable was left behind or not.

And where is MRL now? She said he replaced the thermostat a couple weeks ago instead of calling a pro. I agree no way I'd set foot in that sub'd until they have all the answers. Until they do have answers whats to keep the same thing from happening there or anywhere else?

Watching the Ms on every channel in Indy can't figure out if those are croc tears. You'd have to sedate me if I thought I was responsible for all that. Fox 59 reporting it is now a criminal/homicide investigation.

Dumb broad could have saved a lot by not making repeated casino trips.

A thermostat is a pretty easy install, with minimum low-voltage knowledge required. Even the most ratty, ill-functioning thermostat will not cause a gas explosion. It's only job is to call for heat or cool.

Her 12 yr old daughter now saying she smelled a gas odor in the laundry room coming home from school a couple weeks ago. A 12 yr old knows what gas smells like? I smell a 12 yr being made a scapegoat.
