Gas prices inch closer to $4

I was going to vote for McCain. As of last night, I have decided to vote Democrat. President Bush is the one to stop these gas companies from raping us. Of course, he is an oil man and probably is raking in the dough before he retires. We need to do something about it now. What happened to price gouging. I know all these gas stations didn't get gas in one day.

Ok, lets try this again...No politician can "fix" the fossil fuel issue. We are a society that wants it all. We wanted to live out in the burbs, well, now we pay. Indianapolis is a large metropolitan area with no real transit system for a choice. We need an ELL system, too late for a subway. We are on the downward slide of a bell curve. We as a society have some tough choices to make. Our middle class is being squeezed out of existance by fuel prices and insane archaic taxes. We were dumb enough to elect two guys in the oil business to the executive office, not to mention the fact that both of them were no brain trusts in college. Bush barely squeeked by at Yale, only because of who daddy was and who grand daddy was. Cheney...flunked out of Yale and had to go throught multiple draft exceptions to barely squeek out of Wyoming...Go out and buy a bicycle. Get fit and flip off the gass stations you ride by. as long as the oil traders are jacking up the price of oil because of the dollar being weak things are only going to get worst.
the way I see it is the traders are the only one's who are getting rich while the rest of us are going broke. |

How many times do i have to tell you STUPID STUPID people, the PRESIDENT cannot invest in ANYTHING while he is PRESIDENT...the same thing applies to all presidents regardless of party. |
Isn't funny that gas price went up about the same time the tax stimulus checks are hitting the bank.
Well as usual Spicoli you didn't do your homework. Clinton vetoed the energy bill of 1996 that would have opened up drilling in ANWR and off the coasts. Since then Demoncrats have fillibustered every attempt to allow drilling in America and building new refineries in America. Once again you have flunked History ! Mr. Hand would be turning over in his grave. Grow up Spicoli or you will be freezing to death this winter ! If not you, think about your grandma ! |
i noticed that also, about the stimulus checks indy -east, i guess they think we are morons or just don't care and want to put a screwing to us. bend over and be prepared no kisses or lube. do you buy food or fuel? i guess most of us are going on involuntary diets.

Finally someone else has got it! Oil is being traded as a commodity. People have been putting money into the oil commodity futures as a hedge against the weak dollar and the roiling stock market. As long as they see it as safe, they will continue to bid up the price of a barrel of oil! Bush has nothing to do with it. However, you might ask Mrs. Clinton what her daugheter Chelsea does for a living. Oh no, she is a Hedge Fund Manager at a firm that trades oil commodity futures! OH, OH! |
Yeah baby, until you tell your congressman and senator you want us drilling for oil in America and refining oil in America you are going to freeze to death next winter. You car is going to be up on blocks in the front yard. How have you liked the Demoncrat Energy Policy you been living under. Wasn't Bush's you misinformed bitch !!!! |

Here is a straw for the camels back. Typically California has the highest gas prices in the country due to all the taxing. Indiana is ALWAYS 30-35 cents a gallon cheaper. News flash all, we are still below 3.70 here in Los Angeles. Last February when I visited Indiana there was a 40 cent difference between Indiana and Southern California gas prices. and now Indiana is higher than L.A.? It is plain old GREED folks. And it's now time, per the "powers that be" that Hoosiers pay the bill.
Not one of our presidential candidates had addressed this issue. It is time to tax the oil companies on their profits. Bio fuel programs? A no brainer. So why is there not more being done in these departments? I am NOT a fan of Gov "Anhold", but he did, albeit quietly, whispered the words "profit tax", which by and large has stopped our prices from skyrocketing even higher. Our elected officials CAN do something to help this and if we want to fight this it is time we start holding our elected officials accountable. Lets all remember something. State and local government offices and officials were originally designed to be made up from a group of ordinary citizens to represent ordinary citizens. Get the picture? |

I posted the same comment on the gas to high for truckers forum! I agree! Corruption at it's best!! |
The president has no control over the gas prices, have you people ever heard of OPEC? WOW
Yeah, suckers, the Demoncrats did it to you again !!! How you like taking it up the tail pipe. Vote them dumb Demoncrats out !! |
Good job, Oil 4 ME and U ! I completely agree, and I do know my politics and history. What's difference between highway robbery and these high fuel prices? Answer: not a D**n thing-just government approved!
That's right sister! Tell them damn Demoncrats you want them to start letting us drill hear in America and you want them it let us build more oil refineries in America so we can tell OPEC to suck our tailpipes ! Right Arm ! Farm Out ! Powder to the People !!
Hey, you still got that clown Henderson down there stealin you blind ! That Republican in Name Only is such a phony! |
I currently work for the Indy Star, you all wana hear a good one?
They have gave me 40 extra bux for the fuel costs. This is for 2 weeks! Lets try math class here, I spend at least 30 bux a day in gas during the week and little over 40 bux on Sundays---Not worth it! |
Personally, I am extremely tired of hearing politicians talk out of both sides of their mouth-buy American and Keep it in America!I agree, but shouldn't that include fuel?! It always comes back to the points of "only when it is convenient" or "Policies can never appy always". What a crock!
By the way, I am NOT in Greenwood-I'm in New Castle, and gas prices here have been at 3.95 for a week or so now... The latest "fuel efficiency program" of saving 30 gallons per year for trucks and SUVs equates to a midget pi**ing on a forest fire!! |
As for Lance, time to consider searching for a new career, fellow!
Well then they can do something about it, called oil reserves!! Get out from under his desk!!! |
Well, it seems that everyone has ideas about high gas prices, but no realistic solutions.
Corporate greed is the root of this evil, and nothing will stop it. Also interesting that all the fuel efficient "hybrid" vehicles are so expensive that the poor folks who are most severely affected by high gas prices can't afford them. Today's America....The rich get richer, the poor get poorer, and the middle class takes it up the butt every time. |
