...meaning less than 1 in 20 students graduate. The others go home with debt.

State dollars are being wasted. New leadership there is needed immediately.

Most of them get a degree in psychology or sociology . That does nothing in the real workforce . They would had been better off going to UTI and Lincoln Tech Institute , Nursing is still a good way to go also.yes Bill Clinton and Obama have told young teesn to get en education and to stay in school and at momma's house and get it all for free. Many jobs were outsourced by Bill Clinton to China. Obama has picked up the Clinton outsourcing torch, The youth were told get into computer programming and you will make bug money. Many of the computer programming jobs have gone to China along with many millions of other jobs, Many telemarketing and collections has also gone to India and China. Or trouble shooting jobs also outsourced, That leaves mostly fast food and clothing stores as jobs left in America, With the big deal Obama has made with south America, say good bye to many millions of more jobs.Take a look at the mural painted on a wall at the Denver airport . It is apocalyptic mural depicting big govt control over everything as they kill those who resist the new world order.why would an airport put up such a display?checkout WELLAWARE1.COM LEARN THE TRUTH BE PREPARED.

Many students at Ivy Tech aren't working towards graduating. Some are taking classes for personal enrichment. Others are working towards certificate programs. The graduation rate will always be low because of how the educational programs are structured.

Pontificating, not even close to 96% of the students aren't going for personal enrichment or are working toward certificates. A 4% graduation rate is atrocious. That's the only way to address it. Otherwise, your sticking your head in the sand (just like Ivy Tech officials, who -even worse- make hundreds of thousands of dollars while doing so).

Well I am one of the 4%. I earned a two year degree at Ivy Tech before transferring elsewhere to complete a bachelor's program, and I have plenty of first hand knowledge about the diversity of their student body.

Tuition is cheaper at Ivy Tech than at Purdue, so some will take those classes in order to transfer. Those students will be counted among the 96% because Ivy Tech has no way of knowing that a degree was earned elsewhere years after the student took a couple of classes.

And unlike traditional schools, I get the impression that about half of the students at Ivy Tech are only attending part time. Someone completing a class or two per semester would count among the 96% as well.

Last but not least, Ivy Tech openly recruits remedial students who wouldn't be accepted by IU or Purdue. Enrolling students who have GEDs, or who are returning to college after having failed out decades ago is surely going to bring down the graduation rate.

It's beyond non-enrolled IU or PUrdue students. Ivy Tech has open enrollment. You apply and you are in, as long as you graduated high school or received a GED. Transfer students who complete an associate's are counted in the 4%, not the 96%. Also, Ivy Tech Indy may be diverse, but this is not typical for the other Ivy Tech campuses.

Have you seen the sludge that go to ivy tech?!? It's all the crap that either couldn't get in to a decent school or are in their 40's and have 3 kids. Lots of those riding pell grants that want refunds after tuition and don't even bother going to class. It's known throughout admin as the welfare 'skool'. 4% is way better than I thought. I guarantee they have a high default rate on student loans.

My problem is, Ivy Tech denies the 4% graduation rate, saying it's better (when it was actually 9% last year, so it's worse). They should have to tell potential students about this low graduation rate and what the average student carries in terms of debt before students sign up.
