Practice make perfect. As a rule of thumb, it is not a good idea to fire upon police.

I can't think of a time when it would be a good idea to fire a weapon at an officer. But someone wasn't a good shot.

Apparently several. It would be an emotional moment. I shot at an indoor range, and the owner showed me where a policeman blew a hole in the range floor while attempting to qualify with his service weapon.
My brother, ex-police, can empty his Glock into a five inch circle as fast as he can pull the trigger at 30 feet. Being fired upon doe's increase the stress level.

It would be emotional. But I have no sympathy for the thug. I have seen a punk shot, bleeding saying he should have killed "that pig", referring to an officer. That's emotional.

I hope you understood that my sympathy was not for the robber, especially with an ex-cop brother. It would be emotional for the responding police. That is why gun control is hitting your target.

I am glad we didn't lose an officer.

Last thought on the subject. The punk that was sorry he did not shoot the pig certainly was repentant of his sins. The following is/are my opinions: There are times when the crimes are so abhorant, and those arrested guilty, that it is a shame that the perp's are not shot and killed in stead of imprisoned.
On the other side, you do not want police empowered to kill someone jaywalking, nor make it acceptable for hostages killed in a situation to be acceptable losses.

I so agree. These thugs now days, have no remorse. No shame or guilt. They wear their sins as a badge of honor. Not realizing, or caring their only out is prison or death. I am tired of repeat offenders. Tax money being spent that could be used elsewhere for a much better purpose. I was disgusted by the perp last week that was surrounded and jumped from a third floor window, but wanted his mommy to ride in the patrol car with him after being arrested. What a man.

These modern day bad guys have nothing on us. We would shoot up entire restaurants back in the day.
