Wrong again lefty ranter Obama and his drone commie Dems shut down this Govt. They also wanted the sequester. They won;t compromise on any part of the healthcare bill. They have given huge exemptions to the same corporations they use to lash out at, They will give all big unions total exemption from many fines in Obama care also.Obama is the one who removed welfare to work from the bill which was unconstitutional . He should had been impeached for doing that and also handing illegals maps and free welfare.I guess you want more illegals in America using up our resources and system without paying any taxes or fines ever. They are rewarded, even black people had to pay taxes even as slaves. That shows you how bad education is in America and how bad blacks have been taught to hate whites and be so prejudice of success yet thrive on murder, rape ad robbery and thinking being ghetto is cool and successful now these days. There has been more black on black murder since Obama has been President. Obama being the first biracial President was suppose to inspire blacks to get along and achieve and stop killing, raping , and robbing and rioting. Instead he has ramped up their anger over and over.Tell me this Miss BAMA who pays for those Govt programs? Mostly white working people pay for the same programs illegals and blacks thrive off. Go ahead hat white conservatives and see how less in free cheese you receive .

Actually, this problem is not a democrat vs. republican issue. This shutdown is 100% due to the fact that Obama is a bad leader. Now he happens to be a democrat, but some democrats are good leaders and would not allow this to happen. The buck stops with our president on issues such as these. The fact he is whining about congressional republicans just verifies that the man cannot lead effectively. Leaders lead and losers blame. To those who voted for this man, you deserve what you are getting.

Obama ran on the platform of implementing healthcare reform. The bill passed in the House and Senate and was upheld by the Supreme Court after being signed into law by the President. Now the Republicans have partially shut down the federal government in an attempt to open negotiations on a law that is already on the books.

Obama is under no legal or moral obligation to negotiate under those circumstances. Call it a failure of leadership if you'd like, but this tactic is driving the abysmal approval rates for Congress down even lower. This extended shutdown is actually improving Hillary Clinton's chances of being elected in 2016.

Let us not forget that Obama and the Democrats had two full years with full control of the House, Senate and White House. During that time they could have created a great environment in this country in which we all believed he could lead and that things would be just fine.

But instead, druing that time all he got done was to push Obamacare down our throats in the middle of the night in the form of a bill that nobody who was voting on it actually had time to read it. That created the environment in which the Democrats lost control of the House but for some strange reason maintained control of the Senate. And now while the Republcans are doing what we elected them into control of the House to do, Obama and Reid have shut down the government.

Yes, Reid and Obama shut it down. The evidence of that is in how fast they were to pay to have barriers set up around open air monuments that never need them otherwise. It has cost more to do that than it would have to just furlough the people who did it. They have tried to shut down places that are not even under Fed. Govt. control,(i.e. Washington's Mansion at Mt. Vernon) They have ordered states to shut down their state parks even though some states have managed their finances well enough to keep them open themselves. Obama and Reid want this to look as bad as possible.

I'm no big fan of Boehner. But this what the country elected the Republicans to do, whatever they have to to get rid of Obamacare.

Now, on the flipside. I believe Obamacare is bad enough that we should just let it go and see how it works. I have already seen many of the effects of this up close. None of them are good. I have yet to hear one person say, "Wow I signed up for Obamacare and everything went great and now I have all the coverage I need for a much lower price."

Instead, I have seen people lose their jobs. I have seen rates go up. And I have heard about nothing but problems when it comes to signing up in the exchanges. I say, let it keep going this way. The country will find out soon enough how bad it is and the proof will show in the next election.

You watch too much MSNBC and have a one-sided view of reality. I think the reality is that the republicans want a budget. They want to stop raising the debt limit and want to work with what they have.

Obamacare is one of many budgetary concerns and as I have said since day 1, it is unaffordable under the country's current financial position. Regardless of whether or not it is a good idea or a bad one, it is unaffordable and therefore careless to implement.

The approval rating of Congress is a reflection of the leadership in the White House.

Spot on. The United States is not divided. It is the republican party that is divided. And there house is starting to crumble all because Obama is black. Remember he is not even a citizen of the USA. Shows just how ignorant some of the republicans are.

This is a political dogfight. Neither party is exactly presenting themselves in positive light, but it is much easier to paint the GOP as the villians in this mess. However, if you believe that we need to cut spending and reform entitlements to gain control or our out of control deficit spending and national debt, then republicans are using the only political leverage that they have.

What is telling is that Obama and the Democrats are unwilling to concede any ground on spending. If the Democrats are unwilling to move at all when this country faces potential default, then they never have any intention of ever enacting the types of reforms that this country desperately needs. If not now...when??

I think the GOP should reverse course now. Instead of delaying ACA, they should fast track it. No delays, let this trainwreck of a law hang around the Dems neck like a millstone for the 2014 midterm elections. Dems will be swept from office in both the Senate and House.

GOP approval rating 28%. They are toast. Dems at 45%. Lets see what like 65% blame the GOP for the shutdown. Again they are toast.

I believe anyone who is interested in the truth can easily find it. Over 80 Republicans signed a letter to Boehner in August insisting that he use the Gov't shutdown as a way to defund the Affordable Care Act.

This is a Tea Party government shutdown.
