Rachel Maddow accuses the GOP of Sedition. But what IS sedition?

So, what does Rachel Maddow mean when she talks about ďsedition?Ē Seditionís a fancy word for trying to oppose or overthrow the U.S. government. If you get convicted for trying it, the government can take all your property and money away, and throw you in jail for up to 20 years. The U.S. Penal Code (18 U.S.C.ß 2384 ) explains this pretty clearly. You donít need to speak legalese to know it sounds an awful lot like what the GOPís been doing:

If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

Since the Republican party did everything possible to shut down the U.S. government and prevent it from paying itís debts, the legal definition of sedition clearly applies to them.

"delay the execution of a law" is the key words here I think. They undoubtedly tried to stop Obamacare by refusing to fund it. Where is Eric Holder when you need him? These wingnuts need to be made an example of!

The house was operating fully within their constitutional powers. Therefore teh accusations of sedition are nothing more than a typical liberal temper tantrum.

Really now? What laws has he broken? None! Just another liberal hissy fit.

I'm guessing you are the beneficiary of my hard earned tax dollars who fears that if this country enacts the necessary entitlement reforms, your gravy train may end and you will have to take some responsibility.

He is a traitor. Read the sedition law. He is certainly guilty.

They should have hanged individually, but they hanged together.
