A couple of thousand is a nice payoff for 2 cents or more...I wish our legal lottery had that kind of payoff. I never win anything!

I pray that law officers would put forth the same effort in finding the rapist of the 14 year old as they are doing in raiding pea shake houses. Our priorities seem to me to be mixed up. What is more important? Finding and getting the rapist out of the community or keeping someone from placing a penny gambling wager.

A SWAT team to arrest three guys in a pea shake house?

Sort of like shooting flies with a bazooka.

Our law enforcement here and nationally has simply lost its mind...and soul.

Mr. Glen Howard. How do you feel today after reading this? Yesterday at the Senate when voting for the HB1306 (Missing Persons Bill)- oh Howard stood to oppose the bill. God forbid Howard you stand up to oppose saving lives then while in days past you have upheld illegal gambling. The LAW is the LAW and if you do not agree THEN WHY are you in the LAW making process?
Glen Howard once he noticed ALL the Senators were in agreement and he was the OUTCAST he voted FOR the bill.
Glen Howard I believe your comment was something like this. The police already do this. Don't they know they gotta do this? I don't understand, you are telling them to do their job? If you truly believe this - then how can you defend ILLEGAL GAMBLING GLEN HOWARD?
So I hope all the gambling houses are brought down!!

they need to stop the raids of pea shake houses, they don't hurt any one
it's just a game of chance. people can't get ot on the job,or just need extra money, and want to try there luck
the smoke bombs could have injured,or scraed the hell out of those people. were just common people not stealing or robbing, this has been going on for years .LEAVE THEM ALONE. AFTER ALL THESE RAIDS ARE TAKING TAX PAYERS DOLLARS. THIS IS SOMETHNG WE DO AS FUN.

This is enforcement of the law.
I keep seeing this as a poor man's lottery.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, why are the police spending so much time on these "gambling houses" rather than get the bigger threats to our society such as the crack houses all over downtown indy? It just doesnt make sense. Oh yeah nevermind, they can't make money off of the crack houses and the city gambling is taking away from potential tax revenue from the boats that they could collect. They dont care about the safety of the people. They only care about their money. What a shame.

Girls getting raped, people getting killed, and parole and probation violators roaming the city yet our police force is still going after gamblers. Priorities is a word that our law enforcement has not learned yet. How silly, I can drive 35 minutes and gamble all I want as long as the state gets a cut but i can't gamble in this city unless I play the Hoosier "nobody wins" lottery.

Was a flash bang gernade and SWAT team really necessary. What a joke. IPD needs more to do. I"m sure they just wanted an excuse to use their flash gernades. What idiots. These arent drug dealers.

Great work IMPD! Close the pea shakes down and all other forms of illegal gambling.
These locations can be a source of crime and a hangout for criminals.

This is pathetic....what about all the killings, or the little girl who got raped at the bus stop? Surely our officers have better things to be spending their time on that a few card and dice games.

Honestly who are they hurting? No one they are not forcing people to come to these ticket houses people are doing this at their own will, and unlike the lottery the state is not getting a cut of the money. It is sad that these ticket houses are our main concerns. What about all of these IPS schools with outdated learning material, or all of these inner city youth with no programs to attend, or better yet what about all of these unsolved murders or illegal police activity? What happened to the officer that was caught in the poker raid, how many other cops knew about that poker place and had been there and illegally gambled.

Now you know why it was put out of business....the state doesn't like competition!

And why are the police not out arresting more serious criminals. People are being killed in the streets and the police are doing this nickel and dime stuff. Go for the meat...not the bone!

This is so stupid that the IMPD continually cracks down on gambling while areas in the city are being hit with crime and other related incidents. I wish that the state would legalize gambling because it will sooner or later as that was the plan 10 years ago as the conservatives needed to warm up to it. AKA the money it brought in helped them see it was worthwhile...

you dont think they are looking for that man? i know they are. just because 10 officers were at 38th and keystone raiding a house doesnt mean anything, there are more than 10 officers at any given time patrolling for impd. you are saying they arent supposed to be doing anything but looking for that girl, and they arent shutting down pea shake houses because of "penny gambling wagers" but because they attract crime and violence/drugs

They have known about this house being a pea shake for years. It has been there since I was in grade school. This is a way to get the attention off of the real problem in Indy( crime- unsolved murders). The Mayor and the governor are much like our president. Take the focus off of the real prob and focus on some BS.
Who cares about the pea shakes they have been around town for ever as have the games on the Northeast side of town Pendleton Pike) and the South Side Texas Hold Em,WTF. Lower the murder rate Indy leaders and get off of the BULL
