Guess you missed the "we are in this together" implications. In a democratic republic there are no "cheap seats" my friend.

Greencastle, Indiana and Depauw University yesterday. It was an hour long wait outside in the cold rain, before entering the Lilly Center at the School. We waited about a couple of hours again, but this time a lot warmer and dryer. It was worth the wait, and fmr Prime Minister Blair's speech reafirmed why I still have a lot of admiration for him.

Blair has always laid great emphasis on nations working together. He's never been an islotionist. His internationalism and his frequent calls for nations to work together are reasons some little Englanders disliked him. He often talked about "change" - mainly to get his party to imbibe change into its very being. It worked while his dynamism wa leading hi party and the country. Now the sub-prime minister Brown is flailing around trying to find "direction, focus and vision. We don't recognise history while we're in it. We will in time. We'll realise one day that this man who introduced a minimum wage, allowed devolution to Scotland & Wales, helped bring peace to Northern Ireland where all others had failed, led the fight against global warming and was not afraid to call "terror" terror, was one of a kind.

Sure there are. A democratic republic just gives you the right to express your opinions about those we voted in. I am not saying you do not have that right. I am just saying it is easy for you to "blast" someone when you have no understanding of what it takes to get to that position let alone lead. If you did...you would be there.

All I can say to all of you retards out there who think that Blair did such a bad job,"JUST WAIT" You do not know how good you had it! And I do mean the same for the USA. The next 4 years for the USA will make people in America appreciate George Bush. I get apprehensive when I think of the possibilities of our leaders in the next 4 years and how scary this world is today.

The thing that sustains me is that you right-wing conservatives will soon be gone. Bush was, and still is, the worse f-in idiot to ever serve in the White House.
Let's bring Jimmy Carter back to the White House. He was truly one of your real winners. UGH~~~~By the way, you should be thankful for us right- wing conservatives. It is we who are protecting your sorry, cut and run , cowardly, white flag waving sorry rear ends. It is so easy to be a wimpy, whiney puss!

Blair did say in the Q&A portion of the program that if he lived in America, he'd most likely be a Democrat. I went in not being a big Blair fan and left quite impressed.

What's with Sundance - sending us to Telegraph links of old stories? Haven't you got nything new you can say against Blair? The 'honours' nonsense was absolute rubbish from the beginning. Scottish nationalist inspired tripe - and so it proved when no-one was charged.

The other story - Telegraph too (A Tory are you by any chance, Sundance?)- was from 2004!

Well here's a good story idea for you:

"Blair wows them in In Indianapolis". HELP! Look out world, here he comes.

What do you mean that's been done already?

LOL...

I think I understand where you,re coming from ok..
Lib Dem perchance?

One who would conviently label anyone who would dare to disagree with Blair's World View as a 'Little Englander'

In other words a racist BNP voting thug..

Well for your information I happen to be none of these things and my vote (whenever possible) would tend toward an independent candidate, running on a specific issue that would have bearing on my life and that of my family...
A tactic that has yet to bear fruit BTW, but I live in hope :)
I have no confidence whatsoever in any of the three main political parties, as I believe they are all completely out of touch with public opinion, as evidenced by the NO vote on the referendum on the EU Constitution...(of course you will call it a treaty)
The opposition by the Tories, I see as simply political opportunism and in my view, given the chance, they would do exactly the same thing..
As for the Lib Dems, their spineless antics were beneath contempt...

That aside, let,s get back to dear old Tony...
The few links that I posted were the opening salvo to my,hopefully not single handed, campaign to persuade our American cousins that despite old "Teflons" undoubted excellence in command of the language, coupled with his great 'presence' that there are many in this country who understand he far from walked on water and see him for what he is...

To me he is no more than a 'Grifter' second to none..

Now it would be impossible to argue the consequences of Blair's 10 year premiership easily and as I am going away for a few days with no computer access, I will look forward to getting back to you, as believe me , I have plenty to say on this matter..
Regards
Sundance..

ps..perhaps we can begin with 'Spin'

PPS..lay of the Scots, they,re good people :)

Not enough room to quote your comment, Sundance, sorry. But I've headlined each section for you:

A LITTLE ENGLANDER?
No. I don't accuse anyone of this. We are all entitled to come to different conclusions on policy areas without being labelled xenophobes, nationalists or retrogrades. And Blair is NOT always right. No-one is. But he's achieved much more than most of us in politics and life. A touch of civility and credit would be polite, don't you think? It's a pity the defeated are often so bitter.
LISBON TREATY/CONSTITUTION
Yes I think the Lib Dems WERE foolish. Clegg should have allowed them a free vote. We'd have seen the colour of their principles and their analysis or rather REASONS (e.g. marginal constituency!) for voting with the "people" er press.
The constitution was actually three times as large as the Lisbon amendment to the treaty. Wonder how they managed to divide by 3 that blasted constitution ... treaty!?
The only genuine iota of truth in the Lib Dem stance was that the Daily Mail has been trying to get us out of the EU by their campaign to vote against the Lisbon treaty. That rag cons their readers. Though some are happily led this anti-EU way, of course, Tories all. The Lib Dems, I suppose, were trying to bring out the EU debate and confound the antis. It would never have worked, as an in/out campaign needs a big fight across the country, across months. The main two parties are too split on that to go for it. The Tories should steer clear of EU debates. They are split more than Labour on this.
A GRIFTER
YOU have been conned into believing this by the disgraceful British printed press. They, the graduates of the School of the Font of All Knowledge of Politics/Ethics/Principles/Mor als have been conning us for years. It takes a disinterested mind to recognise this, of course.
SAYING PLENTY ABOUT THE CONSEQUENCES OF BLAIR
Come on then Sundance. SAY plenty about the "consequences". I look forward to debating back with you.
SPIN
Invented by Thatcher, due to press pressure for soundbites. Essential in this media age, perhaps sadly. Campbell was just the best at it. Most irritating to the press.
LAYING OFF THE SCOTS
OK! You win here. After all I AM A SCOT, as are Blair ... oh, & Brown.
It's only smirking, snide, sneering Scottish Nationalist Alex Salmond I insist on laying into. Don't like him; not one bit. I'll admit it could be personal.
A bit like you and Blair.

Why thanks old son (you to Jim) but as we all know this person is free to think whatever they choose and lets face it, who gives a damn? Certainly not me...lol
Anyway a group of 8 of us have just returned from a fantastic long weekend in Ireland. We were sailing, hiking great food and wine...the works..
We had never met 4 of the group before and whilst setting the world to rights in the pub (as you do):0) the subject of Blair came up..
Not through me BTW, it was an article in the paper. Even though we are from a cross section of society we were all in agreement we are glad to see the back of him..
It was worrying to think he was just going to waltz into the EU Presidency, but I have since found out Berty Ahern has thrown his hat into the ring...
http://www.independent.ie/national_news/berti...
and for now looks favourite...
I,ve always liked him, bit of a lovable rogue and all that and I give him a lot of credit for his efforts in the peace process...
Unfortunately the way the things are the people have no say in the matter anyway (surprise surprise) so fingers crossed Blair dos,nt get his hands on the prize..
