Where is the town headed...the beloved "NEWBIES" of the town council, which I must agree with Bargertucky, are letting their so-called power go to their heads with no qualifications at all...Unless you consider sitting at BP and Tobacco Road all day a qualification to sit on the board...does this sound familiar to anyone...maybe that's where these council meetings should take place because apparently this is where the decision making process occurs...How redneck...This town wants to grow but has people in elected positions that don't know their a** from a hole in the ground. Also, to you 4 members that voted Mr. McCarthy out...are to stand by your decision that you couldn't be available for comments...that already tells me none of you have any integrity and it's only the 10th day of the new year...God help this town...

One more point...when you people on this so-called council realize in a few months that this town needs a Town Manager, which one of you is gunning for the position???? "HONESTLY"

Can some one tell me EXACTLY what are the Town Managers job duties, and explain how a council that only meets once a month for a few hours can replace a job position that required 160 hours a month.

Being a citizen of Bargersville, I went online to search the web for some information. I was not able to attend the meeting, but had heard we had a council that were making aggressive decisions. Locating and learning what was going on, I was appalled to see some of the unintelligent remarks made by obvious people that probably are spewing off at the mouth and not having any facts at all. It is so easy to throw darts at people behind screens. I commend those who had to make hard decisions for a great town that I have lived in for many, many years. I think it is time for people to stand in line with them and entrust those. We needed change and the voters came out and voted. They had their reasons for voting and from what I have been hearing within the town, we have a strong and confident council. Most of these comments made are just plain childish and those should be ashamed of themselves. There are five council members and before people make presumptions, they need to do their research and find out what their experiences are and actually what they are doing to back up their decisions.
Bargersville is a great town and I for one and my family have to have faith in what is going on. Our town depends on those five people and I for one would not want to be in those shoes. You speak of Glory and power. You couldn't pay me enough money to make the decisions they would have to make. Those who commented (from all other towns and only a few that are from Bargersville), come to a meeting, call upon those members, seek their vision and advice. You and I may both be surprised.
We need to support and be apart of their decisions not stand firmly and childishly against them. Our town has to grow positive. Give them a chance is all I can say. Let us see where this goes. I am sure they have done far more research than any of us have.
I am sorry but I had to speak for our town. It is not very often people speak positive about anything. That is what is wrong with this world. People love to create negativity and where does that really get us??????????

Seriously, What is this Middle School? We need to focus on what do we do now? As a member of the community, I cannot give the time to get involved in the committees or run for office, that nonetheless does not negate my concern for our lovely community. We are on the cusp of serious development in Bargersville. Without a fulltime person following a specifically laid out plan, I am concerned that we will get swallowed up by big business and development, our property values will decrease and our community dissolved. I would like to hear comments from our newly elected town council. What is your plan to recover from this seemingly backward decision? How do you plan to handle the future development of Bargersville while maintaining it's character?

I agree with Tina. I have small children that may or may not grow up in this community and if MY town council is going to eliminate a position just to save a little money, I would like to know their plans as well. They have saved how much per year now, but how much have they lost in experience, knowledge, and loyalty to the town. It's not all about the bottom line, especially when we are talking about another human being's career and future. I am sure they could think of better ways to cut costs. Are we REALLY cutting costs or are we hiring our friends and firing our enemies. I would like a better statement, than we are saving money this way and don't need a manager.

HONESTLY!! Corruption is gone now in town? I guess stealing campaign signs to win an election is ok. And I guess having registered Democrat voters being allowed to vote in a Republican primary is ok, as long as they are voting for the right person. And I guess allowing elected town officals work the voting booths is ok too. I can go on and on.

Oh, and how can you expect elected officials to make professional decisions when most of them cannot even dress or look professional. Maybe they can use the money that was paid to the town manager to buy some nice clothes so they can look like officials......and maybe some dental insurance.

The people referenced in previous commentary, surely didn't run or win an office. The $60M per year for management of the small town seems excesive to logic, granted that 135 growth will continue. In a democracy there is always disagreement. Its possible that the garden still has someweeding to be done for the sake of reasonable taxation.

you can't going any were without hearing about the higher up in town managements. Its like high school all over again with their little click, but you get more with kissing, when with honest workers. they need to get rid of all the managers, supers new secretary. start a new slate, with new people maybe we can get real adults running this town.We should give our new council time.I think that honestly had some really good points. MAY GOD WATCH OVER OUR TOWN.

The weeding season in the garden has began.I would hazard a guess that if you dont do your job, then someone else will. The town manager that replaced the old town manager did not even live in the community,He was not doing a very good job anyway,I just wonder who else had better lookout.

Mike McCarthy was a jerk to the residents of Morris Meadows. When his people made mistakes. He would never accept responsibility and correct the mistake. Everything was to bad you pay for our mistakes.
