Mike McCarthy was a real stand-up guy. To bad the town council didn't recognize the value he brought to their backward community. Here's your sign.

Taz obviously can't saying anything productive or mature. However, I would say that this seems to be a bit of a step backwards.

I don't understand why they did that. The Town Manager position is critical to a town's management. Council members are VERY-part-time elected officials, and you need someone to manage the town. Maybe they just didn't have the right person doing the right work? I don't know. But this just doesn't make sense.

It is only a matter of time beore the new money gets rid of these hillbilly council members. Old money from pigs and land and dear old pappy won't see the town through the next step.

This town council let the guy stay until they thought that they had learned enough from the guy that they could expend him and manage the town's affairs within their part time view of things..As soon as developement really starts to spring, bang, one of them will run for while claiming kudos and accolades for THEIR successes in bringing Bargersville to a new level of status(forget that growth is inevitable down 135) . Jr. Politics at its best.

Wow, what a dumb move. Yet another reminder that Democracy has it's weaknesses. Usually, those weaknesses come in the form of ignorant politicians like this town council.

Eliminate the town. It's a subdivision, an embarassment to the dead.

As a member of the Bargersville Plan Commission, I believe the decision to elimate the Town Manager is a mistake. The Plan Commission looked to Mike McCarthy for guidance on many issues, as do several other town boards. The Plan Commission is in the middle of revising the Comprehensive Plan for the Town. Could we maybe have waited until the revisions were finished? And for those of you who wish to take your digs at prior officials or citizens and mention them by name but not your own - HONESTLY!

I think its wrong that you dont have to be required to have any knowledge or background to be on the town council. So which means anybody that lives in the town can run for town council or clerk treasure.Which appears that you can have a criminal backround,,get fired from your job for stealing money,,etc...But what is really sad,the town of bargersville voted for this council. So all i can say,,you got what you asked for bargertucky!

Honestly - You definetly take your username lightly, before you take shots at our family you might start with some grammer instruction. "anyways", as you were saying, our family has managed to help keep Bargersville a better place to live by serving the community, keeping our homes looking nice and always giving back, I was unaware that we had corruption involved in that. I do not know if any member of my family has ever purposely mistreated anyone. If the Town Manager position needed to be eliminated, I would think you could do it with some professionalism, people cheering and clapping because a person lost thier job is a perfect example of the quality of people you seem to want running the town. Please feel free to contact me at anytime if you really want to share your opinions about any member of my family, that is if you want to be honest about who "Honestly" really represents.
