It looks like a lotof the private cathlic guys have ashort term success and then, when they can't reload.... they fall on tougher times. Look at Lawrence North, they are in the same situation, even though they have better athletes. The style of offense etc. that works when you have a pipeline of CYO boys rolling in every year, doesn't work so well when you just have to take them from the township- unless you have everyone "move" into the district like LN basketball or WC football

You guys want Wright to come there and cheat like he did at WC and Tulsa Union? Why do you think he got canned there in one year? Unless you Noblesville folks are so starved for wins you'll resort to win-at-all-costs behavior- then you'll be WC. Same school colors, shouldn't be that much of a stretch

Steve Hurst is a class act and does not deserve to be fired. Barr did not cheat, he just didn't win. Why would you fire an AD for a coach losing football games?

Check out Don Jellison's Article from the Noblesville Ledger 11/6/2007. This comes from someone who is respected and knows a lot about Hamilton county sports. About sums up my thoughts. Blame starts at the top down....... administrators, principals,AD's and school board. Face it they have simply not put sports as a priority.

Barr has some fault.
Noblesville Schools doesnt care end of story! From the top down.
The field and press box had to be fixed by the private companys. And for 10 years! Oh theres no grass on this field again! Theres no parking, the stands are the same size as they where 20years ago, and the school has doubled in size. Look at Pike, Franklin, on and on they found the money to play in 5A. Hurst will recomend some puppet who wants a job and all you did was change the chairs on the Titanic! Will they do a little better maybe, but so did Barr for a while. There are 4100 studets at Carmel 2300 at Noblesville. Good luck new coach.

How come we are haveing money issues as this AD said in the paper, but yet other schools Laf Jeff, Pike, Franklin and a lot of 5A schools who know what it takes to compete at a 5a level, Found the money?? We are talking Millions they found. Its a business, untill you run it like one and have businees people run it. Of corse there is no money! Hello

Come on community.. speak up!! this guy is the ultimate politician!!. He fired Gary Wood for building a small building to keep Bobby Mills alive from the extreme heat. I can go on more if needed. Steve Hurst may be a decent guy, but he doesn't have much commen sense. By the way I do not blame Steve, I do it at work all the time to keep my career going as well.

You are right! and everybody knows this stuff about the AD. We pay him 70 plus thousabd Dollars a year he gets $10,000 from Noblesville town programs. And look what we have. In the papaer "we dont have money" Until Noblesville cleans house from the top to the bottom. Noblesville makes easy moves not correct. What quified him to be AD? He was a Biology teacher a bad football coach ??? The AD is what we thought he was. Maybe a nice guy, AD he is not!

I have heard the Wood story. How about this years senior parents night. Hurst turned away a players grandmother, who was to stand with his father, in place of his decesed mother. Hey Miller man 07...still want to hold on to your class act thoughts of Hurst? Clean house from the top down. I hope the school board reads this.

Consider this: For all those in Noblesville who just got their 25-30% property tax increase, the back of the tax card shows the biggest part goes to our schools. The Noblesville School Board provides governance for a $62 million business that employs more than 900 people to serve the needs of more than 7,500 students....but school board meetings are closed to the public. City council meetings are open to the public and are transparent. If we are having money issues, where is the oversight and who is not doing their job? School Board....hope your listening.

That is a true story. The player was Ryan Wides who came home at the age of 6 to find his mother dead of natural causes. His grandma wanted to fill in for her deceased daughter and Hurst said he could not make an exception. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!!!!

Hey, I have an idea for all of you undeducated Noblesville redneck Nazi muffins....
Why don't you become the first ones on your "5A" block to refuse to build a bigger football stadium and instead use the money to build a world class science center or library for your kids??? Why not send the most kids on to study law and medicine - instead of putting up a bigger football stadium???
Of course, your kids wouldn't have arthritis or require joint replacements by middle age, and you Nazi muffins would need to find something else to do with your Friday nights - like go to a museum, read, or watch a movie with your family - but gee whiz, that's progress...
"Nazi muffin"? What is a "Nazi muffin"?

I've heard of;

Meadow Muffins
Blueberry Muffins
Grandma's Muffins
Muffing around
As well as a couple other 'muff' items not spoken in polite company.

Oh wonder of Crawfordsville, what is a Nazi muffin? Can I wear a Star of David to play???

As a former player at Noblesville under Craig Barr, I can honestly say that this is a step that should have been taken a long time ago. Coach Barr never had true success as a coach at Noblesville - his teams from 2000 and 2001 were the most talented he fielded (2001 class only lost a few games all the way through their careers). After the talent pool ran out the program went downhill fast. There seems to be little, if any, coaching of fundamental football skills at the lower levels where players are developed. Noblesville needs to look into its coaching at all levels if it wants to see a resurgence in the program.
