Never heard of him. Was he failing his classes? Hopefully he will get his degree.

"will not return the Indiana basketball team"

Seems he should at least return the team, especially if he isn't going to play for them.

What are AJ's personal issues???? It's too bad. He fought hard to get back and the team could really use his leadership down the stretch.

AJ has obviously encountered issues that transend those associated with big time college basketball participation. Now is the time for him to work on overcoming those issues. This is in all probability a "win-win"

A.J.

If you read this, man take your time and get yourself together. Life is so much bigger than basketball. At some stage in life the ball stops bouncing. You went to College
to learn and grow. Get your degree and make your parents proud !!

Doesnt take a genius to see whats going on here. He couldnt make the grades before...he cant make the grades now. Couple that with no PT and its time for him to focus on getting his life straight before going out into the real world.

Good move by Sampson. Its tough to lose one of our few Seniors, but Sampson is doing him a big big favor.

Anyone else look at AJ this year even when he playing and wonder how this guy ever got on the court before? He isnt as good as Crawford or Ellis and this is their FIRST year in big time D1 ball.

AJ thanks for all the memories, your heart and determination was easily perceived. Don't feel like you let the fans or anyone else down, your contributions are appreciated and will be remembered.

I feel for the young man. He has tried to beat the odds for a long time. Difficult childhood; hopefully he will be able to hang in there and eventually get a degree. A.J. seems like a very nice young man and every true IU fan should thank him for his efforts to the program. What a shame he can't make it to Senior night so he can be acknowledged.

Your right, they should arrest him for theft.

Best of luck to A.J.

Before this season, A.J. was a regular contributor. He has amazing wingspan and altheticism. His grades kept him out of the early part of the this season. And Gordon, Crawford, and Bassett claimed most of the backcourt minutes while he was ineligible.

Hopefully, we'll read updates about his basketball progress in the Herald-Times and Indy-Star.

It must be serious beyond grades or school, most athletes rarely quit unless they have no other option.

Could be parents or whatever else.

does this have anything to do with that little pot issue in chicago that we hear so little about?
Why is Sampson so secretive about everything? He makes it too obvious tht he is covering things up.
I for one am tired of his crap

Did he steal Sampson's cel phone? I mean what does it take to have a convicted cheater kick you off the team

Hopefully, this young man will transfer, get his affairs in order, and get a degree. Good luck A.J.
