That is just horrible. Though one shouldn't have to worry about someone breaking into their home, why would you not keep that stuff in a safety deposit or something of that nature. That is a lot of valuable stuff

I agree, but why wouldn't you put that in a safe deposit box. I hope she was insured.

Why keep it in a safe deposit box? You wouldn't be able to enjoy the valuables when they are locked up. I hope she is insured though.

I saw her on the news last night. She looked like a sweet elderly lady who's greatest concern was the loss of her late husband's WW2 medals including his purple heart. Why does the Star never give descriptions of the preps, as it could help jog someone's memory. Witnesses on the late news last night said 3 black teenage/young adut males in a red pickup were seen at the crime scene during the time that the lady was gone. I know it is not a complete description, but I would think they would pubilsh all that they know for general public safety.

Punks!! Too bad they can't pick on someone their own size and age. But, then again, punks their own age are just out there burglarizing too! Note to young parents: Be sure you're a parent who cares and makes your child(ren) respectful instead of being their "friend" so they turn out like this.

these low-life hoodlums need to get a job and work for a living like the rest of us instead of stealing from someone who's probably worked hard all their life. What jerks they are - hope they spend the rest of their lives in jail. What ignorant fools. I'm just glad she wasn't at home.

I don't care about why she kept her valuables in her home. I want to know why the neighbor didn't immediately call the police when he/she saw three young black men leaving the house. Didn't that look suspicous?

How do you "enjoy" rare coins and cash (except to spend it)?

Has to be an inside job. How would three young kids know to go to this particular house to haul out that kind of loot? Would they even know the value of rare coins, stamps and military medals? Somebody must have tipped them off to do this job.

Northeastside? Could we narrow that down a little? Geist? Brightwood? Fishers? Meadows?

Since she was singled out because of her age, will hate crime charges be filed when these guys are arrested?

Which is why you'll never have $400K at that age or any other.

That is so sad...many older people don't trust banks, thus they keep their money at home, they remember the depression. I just hope that WHEN they catch these punks that they get more than they desevere.
