Oh great - It's already hard to get to I65 from downtown. Now they are going to make it harder under the veil of "improving east downtown economic opportunities"

This will be nice when it is done, but has created a mess now for people who work on the east side of downtown and have to get on 70W to get home. With these ramps closed and West street restricted to 1 lane, 2 of the 3 options from downtown onto 70W are restricted. It would have been helpful if they could have coordinated these efforts.

At least they won't have to worry about Pacer's game traffic.

Maybe it will slow down the blight in that area.

It isn't scheduled to come down until late 2008, after the new ramps are built on Washington street.

As downtown resident who has to access 65 all the time, that comment makes no sense "UGH"

I think this is a great idea. The roller coaster ramp has always made that area of downtown flow weirdly, and moving the ramp to Washington street really will benefit that area.

How believably pathetic reporting was that. It's like telling a 3rd grader that he must write a story and use 500 words. Much the same result.
I care for more about when than how much, how long and the tremendous benefits for those that currently reside under it!

The removal of the ramp is a waste of taxpayer's money. The existing ramp appears to be in excellent condition. Porkbarrel spending? Aren't there other alternatives than spending millions to replace a perfectly workable entrance to the freeway?

Big improvement with even bigger residual benefits. Trust me on this. Good for Mayor B.

Yes, it will make it much easier to access the Washington Street Prostitution District.

UGH- You're hog wash buddy. Until you live AND work downtown, hush. This will become one of the most traveled gateways into the city. Maybe 35 people use the ramp currently. The space will be utilized more efficiently. Go COLTS!

Totally agree. I will miss roaring up this tried and true ramp and exploding onto the I65 south scene!

Although I love the RollerCoaster aspect (who else raises their arms whne climbing?), the benfits should be obvious! The exits along that stretch really don't serve the downtown well and one has to know the downtown streets in order to navigate properly.

I think it would be a great idea to create another "Circle" at the intersection of one of the north-south streets that crosses with Market. Possibly New Jersey or East Streets. This would really anchor that area of the DT.

Who really wants a gateway to the east side?

Have you seen it lately?

Build a wall blocking view of it from downtown.
