PLEASE GOD, TURN ALL HEARTS TOWARD YOU. REACH DOWN AND MOVE ON ALL HUMAN BEINGS. AS IN BETHELEM. THAT BRIGHT STAR. LET ALL LOOK TOWARD HEAVEN WHICH COMETH ARE HELP. AND GIVE YOU PRAISE. LET EACH AND EVERYONE FIND YOUR SPIRIT AND BE BLESSED. LET ALL EYES FIND YOUR WORD. AND LET ALL ASK IN JESUS NAME FOR YOU TO SHOW THEM THE TRUTH. FOR YOUR TRUTH WILL SET ALL THAT ASK IN YOUR NAME. AND WILL SEEK YOU WITH ALL THEIR HEART AND SOUL. BECAUSE YOU KNOW THE HEART. AND ONLY YOU WILL AND CAN SET ALL FREE.. IN JESUS NAME. AMEN. ACTS 2:38

So sorry for that poor girl. But the Star has it wrong. It's not the first homicide in Greenwood this year. There was a homicide/suicide about 6 months ago at a Mobile home park.

When will all the killing stop! Damn I am tired of reading about people killing other people. The madness needs to stop! These are people with lives that have a purpose in life. To be reading about all the folks that are dying at the hands of others bothers me bad. Especially more around the holidays. Just sad that these thing happen. Nobody has any cooth anymore. If they want it, they will kill for it. Just sad and a sadder world we live in.

This is Michelle Watson, a copy editor at The Indianapolis Star. According to our library, the last homicide in Greenwood was Dec. 30, 2006. That was a murder-suicide at Southwood Estates mobile home park. Perhaps that is the one you're thinking of?

Thank you for reading.

That is exactly what i was thinking. She was stabbed to death in her apartment too. This makes me scared to be a female living alone. I live near broad ripple and i deadbolt my door as soon as the sun goes down. It's so sad that we should be living in fear like this. I really feel like i should start carrying a handgun as protection. What is this city coming to?

I believe that the local TV stations are reporting that the police are searching for the victim's husband. In all likelihood, this is another case of domestic violence. Such a sad thing to occur, especially at this time of year.

The poor husband may have been kidnapped or taken somewhere and harmed!!! Domestic violence? Always the woman to assume such an absurdity, surely if the husband was involved, I am sure he can claim self defense......thoughts are with the family

You chose the right scripture that could give salvation to all the world, if only they would accept!!

For the family of this young lady, we do pray for comfort for their hearts. Soooo sad and needless!!! This is what TEMPER, ANGER and RAGE does to a sick mind. Later, they say, "I'm sorry" but that does not bring back the dead person!!

That was the exact one she was thinking of, only she jumped to conclusions. The woman killed today is the third person murdered in Greenwood in a year (on top of the previously-named murder-suicide and the daughter who killed her mother at Main and Meridian in Greenwood).

I hate to sound this way, but hopefully the Greenwood police have a decent idea who killed this young woman -- otherwise, the killer will never be found. The police department's investagations are substandard at best. The murders last year were easy for them to solve -- a family member involved in the first one, and the murderer killing himself the next time.

A person is ONLY presumed innocent in court at trial and ONLY by the jury. He's not presumed innocent by anyone else. If he were, how could the police arrest him? How could the judge require him to pay bail?

If a person were accused of child molesting and he makes bail, would you presume him innocent and allow him to babysit your kids? Of course you wouldn't.

You see my point. So, don't get all preachy about people drawing natural conclusions. They're probably right and it's normal and natural to share revulsion about a person who has committed a crime.

In this case, no one has been arrested or charged yet that we know of. So you may presume the husband innocent if you choose to. Maybe he did it and maybe he didn't.

But if you're a betting person, put your money on hubby. This is Christmas. Lots of domestic violence this time of the year. Woman found murdered. Husband disappears. Connect the dots.

Just FYI...This is the info being reported. "Investigators are treating the case as a homicide, and are searching for the victim's husband, Johnny "JD" Barker in connection with the crime.

He is described as being six feet tall, 220 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair. He is believed to be driving a blue 1999 Ford F150 pick-up truck."
