So, since I don't make $50,000 a year as a police officer, my kids should be taken away from me? Think before you write something that doesn't even make sense!

So now they want to blame the officer that originally arrested the dumbsas mom in July? I guess they have to blame someone since their DCS system is broke in a bad way. How sad. Just keep pointing your fingers, and eventually it will get pointed back at you (DCS, YES, or CPS)....

Let's take a look at the judges that impose as little time as possible when they are given the option. I realize that some sentences are fixed terms via a plea agreement and ther is nothing a judge can do about those, but in this case, why did she get multiple chances. She was sentenced, violated probation on multiple occasions and now finally the judge only threatens to put her in prison. give me a break. Wake up judges and realize that it's time to start putting people in prison.

What does $50,000 a year have to do with anything. There are plenty of lousy parents making $150,000 or more, they just can afford nanny's or military school. Kids still get all screwed up.

I know plenty of familys just barely getting buy that love their kids more than anything and spend every extra dollar on them. Money is not the factor, stupidity is.

Ok. Can someone please tell me why on earth the "family" (who is always so grief stricken to the media after the fact) doesn't step in to take care of the kids - especially when they KNOW the parent is incapable. I'm thinking of the woman whose son was out on 465 last year and then Tanjanay and now this child. If that were me and my husband there would be no shortage of friends and family to kick our trifling butts to the curb and come in and take our son. I know I'm oversimplifing as there are courts and custody involved...but my goodness. Call to the "FAMILY" - focus on the kid, not the parent.

I feel for this mother in this. I know that may sound strange to some, but if you have grown up in a family that loves to drink, it's hard to pull away from the temptation. No one knows what was going on in this young ladies mind. Why at such a young age would she want to drink so much? Something must have happened to her or she was trying to hide something in her own mind that made her drink the way she did. My father was an alcholic and even though I didn't make the same mistake he did and get hooked on the bottle, it does cause emotional scarring that will never go away. Even though it's too late, I pray she gets help! RIP lil one..God has got you now!

I am amazed, "Police arrested her four times in December and January on public intoxication charges", why did she still have her son? The little boy should have been removed after the second time, especially when there were so many incidents in such a short time. Maybe the Child Services of the area need to rethink their plans, because if there has been a plan in place, the baby would still be alive. I sure hope, that whoever dropped the ball here, will have a guilty conscience.

Child Services is a joke in this city. Or maybe it is the judges who allows these people to keep their children after they have been arrested. By the way where was the father? Oh, Concerned Parent...guilty conscience doesn't bring a child back from death.

She didn't has legal custody of her son. The State have given him and the other child to the Grandparents.

But this didn't stop the trailer park family members from going before the cameras and blame the State. It starts at home! Start blaming those responsible.

Welfare kills babies. If this parasite was not abusing welfare (they all do), where did she get cash for booze and drugs? Instead of food she got high and we paid. The Great Society has failed. The "poor" in this country make me sick.

I might be missing something, but I didn't see where it's been shown DCS was involved. How they were not is beyond me.

Youth Emergency Services isn't showing any record. I don't know if they are officially a part of DCS or not. I thought they worked together though.

More information will come out in the coming days.

Nevertheless, more and more children are being abused and killed because it IS an epedimic. These children are the 2nd generation of a whole lot of people who themselves were born into poverty, substance abuse, single parents, etc. etc. It is a generational problem, and I fear we'll be reading about these things more and more often.

Is DCS/CPS perfect? No, far from it. But I as a citizen have to realize should my life be in peril, the police might not get to help me in time...if my house should catch fire, the fire dept may not get to it in time to save it.

We are experiencing a societal problems on such a grand scale that no amount of public agency involvement can stop it. We can do our best, but the problem is just toooooo huge. It grieves me.

And just what do you think they are going to do about taking that many kids and finding homes for them. Besides I know a lot of good parents that make below 50K a year and they take real good care of their children. That is stupid thing to say idiot.

The US median Household income is in the neighborhood of $43,000. Are you really saying that all these average households should have their children removed? Give me a break.

Money doesn't cure ignorance.
