Memo to the people behind "Accidental Mayor" --

Cancel your Star subscriptions. They finally took a rational, educated, logical, well-informed position... in direct opposition to you own.

Finally!

In this case, money will win out. Andre has sent me 4 or 5 pieces in the mail. I have heard nothing from Jon Elrod. This is a bankrolled campaign that will prove to a landslide for the same old crap. I'm thrilled that Julia's grandson is on his way to Washington! NOT!!!!!

P.S. Even though I feel this way, you can bet your but that I'm going to vote regardless.

And yet in the final sentence of the 'endorsement', they show their true colors stating that, "Regardless of Tuesday's outcome, Democratic voters should eagerly look forward to the May primary, when Mays, Myers and Orentlicher lead a deep and talented field."

Transparent.

In other words, Carson is a loser, everybody except the MC Democratic machine knows this, so give Elrod props for now, but evicerate him in May.

In recent years, the Star endorsements for political office have proven to be meaningless and ineffectual. The public sees through their liberal, socialist bias and votes as they see fit.

This is such a lame endorsement. We have two candidates who are not qualified. Carson is running on his grandmother's legacy. Elrod is running on hope for another upset. Both are children of political families with limited leadership records either outside or inside politics. What a shame.

Vote for the Libertarian Candidate, he is the best choice, and it will send a needed message. Money should not buy you a seat in Congress...

The Libertarian kicked both their butts in last nights debate I saw on local TV.

Voters need to stop listening to the media and buying into this idea that voting Libertarian is a waste. He's the best man for the job and he wont do anything to raise your taxes or curtail your liberty like both the other two will.

The Star editorial board is still clueless. They wouldn't support a Libertarian if he was running unopposed for fear that they wouldn't have someone in Congress in their back pocket.

Jon has my vote and my wife's vote.

It's amazing that only 24% of Marion County registered voters took the time to vote last November. Carson will only feed the Washington Machine - not change it. Look at all the PAC money he's taken from people not even from Indiana, muchless the 7th District! Over $13,000.00 in payoffs to Political Action Committees that will be due in repayment if elected. PACs that have nothing to do with the constituents of the 7th District... just Andre Carson's power grab.

My Congressman... Jon Elrod

Amen. Due to gerrymandering and ridiculous fundraising, there's no way that Carson won't win, so send a message and vote for the best candidate who will try to restore freedom to our country's citizens!!!!

Sean Shepard offered his best presentation to date and showed he could take on his opponents. Decriminalizing maraijuana (and who knows what other drugs) is a facinating argument when more damage is done by cigs. and alcohol. But was last night's performance the place to do it? Still, he can win the audience, but not win the election. odd man out.

The straw that broke the camel's back was Andre Carson taking $1,000 from M. Yaqub Mirza.

Come on. folks.. the last thing we need to is send another Republican to Washington. We just saw what 7 years of Republican dominated congress will do. Have we learned nothing. I do realize we are in Indiana, but do we always have to be so predictably outta touch? Every now and then it'd be nice if Indiana could look at the big picture.
The fact of the matter is, they are both highly inexperienced. I like Jon Elrod. He's probably as capable as anyone for that job. However, can we as responsible voters send another republican to congress who will inch control of congress back to the Repubs. I do know Jon is no ordinary Republican. He's a moderate and quite bright. But his agenda will not be the agenda moved to the front if we send him. It will be the SAME CRAP WE HAD FOR 7 YEARS. Not by him, but by the idiots who control the party and have already nearly ruined this country. We all need to wake up. At least until Bush is gone in 328 days. Until then... Sorry Jon.

Go Jon Elrod!

He has experience outside of politics. He is a great candidate. He may not have the tons of money that Andre Carson has...but he does have the work ethic and dedication to actually go out and meet his constituents. Jon's not going to waste money and natural resources to overwhelm you with ads. That's a smart man in my book.

I live in Fountain Square. Andre Carson and his supporters have never knocked on my door. All I get are some cheesy expensive flyers that go into the garbage. What a waste!

The way that Carson won't win is that the voters actually come to the polls and vote for one of the other candidates ! Seems the former mayor learned that a few months ago, let's teach the establisment it can happen again. If you really want change, we need more than a different first name on the door. And, if we really want tax reform in Indiana, here is a perfest opportunity to remind the legislative Dems that we are still watching and still ready to vote them out --

So your logic is to continue the former do nothing but vote Dem office we have had for years ?? We need to remember that all politics is (and needs to be) local -- let's get a congressman who actually represents the 7th District of Indiana, not the national agenda of the Democrat party -- Why do you think all the Dem money has come to town for this race ?? The major party agenda here is not Republican, and you even say the Republican is the better choice -- I personally think a "Neighborhood Congressman' is a far better choice than just another party voter. By the way, what has the now Dem controlled Congress done for you lately ?
