As I understand it, A&E set this GQ interview up. With everything said in lieu of contract, Sounds as if A&E either screwed up, or Robertson was set up by someone at A&E.
But why would A&E cut their own throat? This was their big money show, right? On the other hand it does seem as if someone could have set him up to fail.

I see Cracker Barrel has admitted their mistake in the removal of Duck Dynasty items.
Mr. Robertson has also stated he won't back down from his beliefs.

Isn't it wonderful. In just two days 250,000 Americans signed up to boycott cracker barrel.
I bet that the gays could not even get that many to sign up for an orgy.

You should go to A&E Facebook page and read the comments. It took Sid to rally up Americans. We are not talking about a hundred people but thousands each hour sending A&E message that they will not support their station from now on. A&E really screwed this on up. Lets see how they get out of the duck do do now.

Yes they can. It is a shame that we could do the same thing nation wide if we could only get everyone to VOTE. But after Obamacare, I look for people to come out and vote the next election. After the republicrats caved in on the new budget deal that spells only one thing, more borrowing.

The guy violated his contract. Plain and simple. He knew what he was doing and did it anyway.

This has nothing to do with free speech, this has to do with his making AE look bad by going to another media outlet and spouting bigoted, racist crap. THAT is totally against a clause in his contract prohibiting him from doing exactly the above.

Nothing more, nothing less. Opinions are OK as long as you didn't sign a contract stating you would not spout your opinion to another media outlet. He made a HUGE mistake, but that's only to be expected from an idiot.

Time is running out on the Rev. Jesse Jackson's demand for a meeting with A&E executives about "Duck Dynasty" patriarch Phil Robertson, a man he says has done something "more offensive" than the bus driver who ordered Rosa Parks to move to the back of his bus.

On Monday, Jackson, head of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, demanded a meeting within 72 hours over his claim in a GQ interview that African-Americans were perfectly happy before Civil Rights. Rosa Parks helped launch the movement when she refused to give up her seat to a white passenger on Dec. 1, 1955.

"These statements uttered by Robertson are more offensive than the bus driver in Montgomery, Alabama, more than 59 years ago," Jackson said in a statement. "At least the bus driver, who ordered Rosa Parks to surrender her seat to a white person, was following state law. Robertson's statements were uttered freely and openly without cover of the law, within a context of what he seemed to believe was 'white privilege.'"
