I wonder if the daughter is like the mother.

We have some crimes to look forward to.

Does anyone know how I can write Leonard?

If you look at the background of Mark Leonard, you can see that the casino trips were part of his scam on many women. He was running up debt on Moncy's credit cards and would have continued as long as she and her credit card company would allow it. Then he would have split like he had so many times before.
The lure of 300 grand was too great for Leonard to ignore. He claims his split was going to be 100 grand, but rest assured, he had his sights on most of that money. It's called greed.
The Leonard's deserve life without parole. No question.
Moncy is a different story. She was led into this but that excuse only holds so much water.
If she becomes the State's star witness against the others and pleads guilty as charged, I'd vote for a 20 year sentence.
My reasoning is that her testimony can result in pleas by the others, thus avoiding costly trials. They must give up rights to appeals in any plea bargain.
She needs to suffer more than the guys. She knew right from wrong. They had a rough up bringing. The hag enticed Leonard into alcohol gambling and rough sex.

I believe the female was the leader. She had the pizza and willingly gave them pieces of the pie to get them to do her bidding.

She is a black widow with a bad pizza pie with too much sauce.

The story is, she boarded her cat and dropped the daughter off at a sitters before heading to a casino for the evening. Twice. Investigators say that their first attempt failed the previous weekend.
She's in jail now and I don't think she's going to get less than 20 years. An article in this morning's paper says the DA is contemplating the death penalty and will make a decision in the next 6 weeks or so.

The story is quite a bit worse than that.

Both the boyfriend and his brother talked to a Citizen's Gas employee about how much gas it would take to fill a house shortly before the explosion.
Boxes of important documents which should have been in the house were found in the brother's van. Brother said that he recovered the boxes after the explosion but since he did not have access to the crime scene it's assumed he gathered the goods shortly before the explosion.
After the explosion the boyfriend bragged that he was buying a Ferrari with his portion of the settlement.

That adds up to life without parole.

One of the news reports that I read hinted that Citizen's Gas could be held partially responsible because of the employee. Was the employee on the clock?
A little tidbit that reeks of premeditated planning is the exchange of thermostats a month prior to the explosion. And, of course, the increase in insurance coverage a year prior. They knew the insurance company would be suspicious, so their plans date back quite a bit.
Definitely life without parole.

If I was family to the couple next door, I would certainly be calling for the death penalty. This whole thing is pure evil. The amount of planning, and how far back it goes, is single minded evil at work. That they tried this twice is really going to nail them. I will be very interested in following this when it goes to trial.
I would have to read the article (and i'll look) about the employee from the gas company. he may very well just think he was having a general discussion on the general properties of gas and how flammable it is. Or did they think he was providing valuable info and was involved in the planning of this?

Will the jury know if it is a death penalty case? If so I wonder if they will view it different. Always heard some jurors get iffy on giving someone the death sentence. And will they get more appeals if it is a death sentence? I just want whatever the sentence is to stick. I also wonder if they will move this trial. Do people say in Fort Wayne even know that much about it? I feel the system failed in the Casey Anthony case. And OJ. I don't want any of these thugs walking free for a long time.

I have seen this before. A serial murder of women [like Ted Bundy] is arrested.
The women in the public go wild with desire. They wet their pants trying to analyze the dude and learn everything they can about him. Some have sexual fantasies. Some write him letters.
I would be willing to bet my lunch tomorrow that 99% of the "dudes" posting on here as men are really women. As they talk how awful it is what this scuz done, they are secretly having fantasies about him and want his babies.
Don't believe me? Go back and read the posts above.
Give it up girls, this guy is not Ted Bundy. He is a nit wit who is going to get butt whacked for the rest of his life.

They thought they were being so slick. Idiots- every single thing they did seems to be the exact thing not to do. Removing furniture, increasing insurance, board the cat for one night, talk to a gas co employee, brag about money coming in, 2 men seen running from the home the day of the explosion. On and on.

The odds of the suspects getting the death penalty in any case are incredibly slim. While evil is a good term to describe what happened here, since it was not a premeditated attempt to take a life then there is almost no chance that a judge and jury would go along with the death penalty.

In Indiana the death penalty is sought in fewer than four percent of murder cases. Even when the death penalty is sought 5/6 times the punishment handed down is less than death.

Yes, the jury will know from the very beginning if it's a death penalty case. The DA is able to weed out the ones that are opposed to the death penalty. I always thought that was an odd quirk to jury selection. To me, it reeks of stacking a jury with white, professional, conservatives. Somehow, OJ got an all black jury, if I remember correctly. Whatever it was, it wasn't your "typical" jury.
If Officer Bisard can get his trial moved, I would imagine that these idiots can too. People outside of the Indy metro area have heard of the case, but most don't know the details like us locals do. Hopefully it won't get that far.

I think the gas company guy was thinking he had a couple curious people asking about propane AND gas. It's hard to tell whether they were considering using propane after their first failed attempt with gas. Gas appliances comes with a regulator that limits the flow of gas, and a safety system that includes a flame sensor. If the sensor is overridden and the regulator removed or damaged, the safety controls are eliminated. That was the critical information that the gas company employee unwittingly provided.
I believe the employee contacted authorities about these idiots asking questions after the fact, so I don't think anyone considers him being part of the plot.

If Community Hospital provides nurses for the jail then Leonard just might be able to talk his way into some conjugal visits....
