How many people remember Sammy Terry?
Honestly, I had know idea that it was just an Indiana thing. To funny huh...for years I would talk about Sammy Terry to people, thinking they knew who the hek I was talking about....Well unless your from Indiana, you'll have no clue who he is. I would even try to imitate his voice when he's talking to his pet spider GEORGE and when he would say GOOD EVENING. I know everyone is probably thinking I'm such a dork, but I don't care. I Just wanted something happy on this forum for once.

Talked to Sammy (Bob Carter) about 4 or 5 months ago at Red Lobster on Thompson Rd in Indy.

Even Patrick Henry knows who Sammy Terry is. He is an Icon. I remember when I was 5 in 1963 watching him and George and Creeper. He is what made ttv4. We all love him. It was an American tradition watching him. I miss the ole guy. Come back and do some more features Sammy!! Please!! At least 1 or 2 more!!

I watched Sammy as a child, and I was lucky enough last october to go and watch him at Conners Prairie. He is still getting around pretty good. Has the awesome laugh, and still does an awesome job. He is a very kind gentleman who gave everyone an autograph who wanted one. I have been able to get several of his old shows through various collectors over the net. I wish his website would release some.

Sammy Terry (Bob Carter) owned the Family Music Store on N Shadeland Ave for many years. Sadly I think they closed is a couple of years ago - could have been longer than that but as I get older, things seem to have happened not as long ago and my mind thinks. I talked to him many times when I was in his store. Great memories about late night entertainment in Indiana! He was a jewel and still is but I haven't seen him for too many years.

Just the name alone brings back fun memories of running and hiding when I heard that laugh on Friday nights back in the day. It's funny because Sammy terry has a Myspace page and his own website www.sammyterry.com so he must be. Now if somebody can just find out about Cowboy Bob and Janie.

Cowboy Bob Glaze's sister who lived at Culver was Miss Indiana a few years ago. Understand Bob's ranching somewhere in this area. As for Sammy terry, akak Bob Carter, he also was the ring announcer for pro wrestling many years ago.

In looking at ALL of the Sammy Terry sites I am still trying to find out if he is still alive. I am wanting to get a direct email for him. I still need to verify with my mom, but I remember my dad telling me that he worked and knew the gentleman who played Sammy Terry. That didn't seem to matter, he still lured me to watch him every Friday night, he was great! It was great to go down memory lane with his YouTube clips.

I had no idea you could watch Sammy Terry on YouTube. I just watched the one with Sammy, Ghoulsby and Arie Luyendyk from 1987. How fun was that!

I remember spending the night at my friend's house and watching Sammy Terry. Ahhh, the fun memories.

I hope Sammy aka Bob Carter is alive and doing well.

Sammy is alive and well. In fact, he just appeared last night at horrorhound at the Mariott at 21st street and Shadeland avenue! He has more appearances scheduled for this year!

i remember watchin sammy terry! yes he is an icon! i tell my kids stories about him,...it was a saturdy night thing,...they look at me like im weird! and cowboy bob..he was every kids hero! im glad someone has brought this topic up! brings back old and fun memories!

Just checked out the web site and saw that he is going to be in Greenwood at the Asylum House on Oct.3-4. I don't remember where this place is. Can anyone help me out!!

We had a substitute English teacher who said he was Sammy...In the early 80's at Howe H.S. He was old then (to us) but either he was Sammy, or he did a heck of an impression!!

I think he was there when I was at Howe also. He did sound a lot like him but I don't think it was though.
What year did you graduate?? I graduated in 1979. Did you know about the all class reunion party on the 27th??
