i'm not saying it's right, but the industry is looks driven. that's one of the points i was trying to make. in this age, you must be good looking to really succeed in anything related to entertainment. take a look at carrie underwood. sure she can sing, but ... look at her. same thing with shania twait, et al.

Amanda was my favorite girl singer the first week. Not so good week 2. She was great this week. I kept waiting for her to growl and she came through.
All the girls did very well. They finally stepped up to the plate and were, I think, as a group, better than the boys.
Am I the only one who thinks the band is too loud? Seems to drown out some singers.

How many times do I have to tell you all this. The show is not for the best "pure vocalist." The show is about who has the "it" quality that can make them a star. If a young Bruce Springsteen had gone on this show, he's wouldn't even have gotten to Hollywood. But he's a music legend, NOT because he can sing like he had classical vocal training. It's because he's distinct and authentic, this girl is ALL of that. I told my fiancee, who is into R&B, that this girl was going to get into the finals, and she rolled her eyes and said no way. If my fiancee is right, it's only because America likes little teeny pop queen types who over-emote while trying to sing soulful R&B. Will the next Brittney/Amerie/Rihanna/Aleish a stand up?

Hey, nurses make great money. How judgmental to dis someone for their outer appearance. Those who criticize her for not looking like Carrie Underwood need to live your life and let her live her life. Carrie Underwood is a fine singer, but how boring if every female on the show looked and sounded like Carrie Underwood.
