Yes, a few years ago he had a campaign to rename I-465 "The Dave Letterman Expressway."

Well I for one prefer to watch Jay Leno over Letterman... I like both but the remote stays on leno most of the time.:)
Conan rocks too!
And who is that guy that follows Letterman... he sucks so bad I can't even remember his name.
Hey! I like Craig Ferguson! He's got a unique view on American life. And he seems genuinely interested in h is guests, and he certainly can make me care about someone I've never heard of.

Conan's monologue is so routine and boring any more. You can predict what's going to happen. Half of his interviews involve self-deprecating humor which means you hear little about the guest. In fact, one evening he was chided for spending the entire segment talking about himself.

The problem is that most talk shows these days don't interview interesting people. They are simply showcases for upcoming movies. I miss the days when David Letterman could have someone on the show just because they were interesting.

David has made noises in the past that he is disgusted at what the talk show format has become. I am, too.

What about John H. Schnatter founder of Papa Johns Pizza?

What about Patrick J. Kiely President, Indiana Manufacturers Association?
It wont be John H. Schnatter because he is pissed at ball state for not allowing Papa John's to sponsor the football stadium. So he no sponsor's louisville's football stadium and sends his money their way (still a cardinal i guess).

to fact checker: it's the communications building. they'll almost surely name it after someone who has ties to that part of the university, don't you think?

Does Jim Davis already have a building named after him? It could be his honor. Sure, it may be Letterman, but I love these Indianapolis Star speculative stories, especially when there is another possibility entirely.
Keep it up, Gannett. I'd be a little disappointed if the quality of your journalism got any better.

I'm pretty sure it was the David Letterman Bypass because it was when he was having his heart surgery.

I hope it is named after Letterman. It's too bad that buildings are sometimes named simply for those giving the most money. What happened to character and notieriety with maybe a little historical significance thrown in?
Can we go back to just Circle Theatre now?
By the way Craig Ferguson is hilarious - he is fun to watch and is better than Leno.

Oh come on we all know the most famous
alumni is Joyce Dewitt. I think back in the 70's more young men had fantasy's of doing her than Suzanne Somers and all the other women who replaced Suzanne Somers and the 4 or 5 who played the Charlies Angels combined. She was hot!It could be her.

if the new communications building is named after letterman, it will be because of a HUGE donation to build/maintain the building, not to recognize the great things he's done for ball state. i'm not disputing dave's done great things, but all the university is concerned with is how much cash he hands out.
AMEN!!!!
Sad isn't it? His talent so outweighs any money in my mind, Letterman rocks! GO DAVE!!!!
