After feeling frustrated in trying to help individuals or giving to a church and watch them help few, we joined a giving circle.
We donate 1,000 each year and the committee votes on who the grants go to.
This is our 3rd year and there has not been a single group who received a grant that we were disappointed with.
Please get involved in something like this if you are able. It’s been an amazing experience and a great way to give back to the community we love so much.
We were sorry we had to stop helping individual families on our own but after being lied to and individuals who were fraudulently representing themselves, we realized we were potentially hurting more than helping. And at the same time churches we were donating to were turning away those with significant needs. Giving circles are a much better fit!
