His son will speak for him at Clowes.

This is truly a great loss. I am not usually affected by the death of a famous person, but this one will stay with me for a long time.

Indy has lost a great writer. His talent will be missed. Rest in Peace Kurt.

Kurt Vonnegut has a special place in my heart. Back in 1970 I was living in downtown Indianapoliswith few friends and no money. I spent my free time at the public library where I found each and every one of Vonnegut's work. I read and loved them all. He was a genius among fools.

He will be missed.

This is a sad event, although not surprising. It would have been nice for him to have seen how Indianapolis has changed for the better since the time he left for new York.

God Bless you, Mr. Vonnegut

So it goes.

I'd read Vonnegut and dream of writing a letter worth his time to reply.
... a miserable day for humanists and literates. |

This had better get 24 news coverage for the next 2 weeks like Anna Nicole Smith did!
Kurt's in Heaven now. So it goes. |

I was a young aspiring engineering student when I read "Player Piano", a book that I still find applicable in today's life. I became hooked on Vonnegut's style, quirky use of the language, and social implications.
This is a great loss. Kurt Vonnegut will be missed, and remembered. |

This is a heartfelt loss for me. After reading Slaughterhouse-Five back in 1972 I felt I had found a soul mate in Vonnegut and never failed to seek out his articles and books. He will be missed.

The world lost a great man today.

Truly a sad day, an equal to Twain has passed. Who will pick up his pen?

hiho

He is in heaven now.

Never again will this world, let alone city, see the combination of humorist, novelist, philosopher, and activist that we saw in Vonnegut.
One of the true geniuses of the 20th century, without hyperbole. |
