This is just more delaying while the cliff gets higher and higher. Just wait, they'll do it again at the end of this year.

Without spending cuts, there is no alternative other than continuing to look for more more tax revenue. We have not averted anything, we have merely delayed it. I am disappointed in both parties for settling for this plan that didn't call for any major cuts in spending. On top of that, once the new healthcare plan comes to life, we are going to have to find a way to pay for it too. You guessed it! More tax revenue, and higher costs for those that already have insurance.

39.6% taxes for those making $450k+? Lets say a couple makes $500k yearly, pays $198k in taxes which leaves $302k. It's hard to feel sorry that they only get to keep the $302k.

It's hard to feel sorry for someone that worked for what they earned, but we are expected to feel sorry for those who can, but won't do anything? Makes perfect sense to me.

Sorry there is still a fiscal cliff called the Obama economy The great Obama Zombie depression. The Obama healthcare taxes collection has yet to be fully implemented and collected .Now the spin is as though the fiscal cliff has been averted, When now coming up in two months is the great debt ceiling debate, The spending cuts of this latest fiscal cliff has been stalled for two months, Time to replace Boehner .Time for the Tea Psrty to be thee party and replace the Republican party all together.

Worst "compromise" ever if you ask me. Everybody who works now faces a 2% SS Tax increase. The government is not forced to curtail the spending addiction. High earners are adding almost 5% to their marginal tax rate. The sad part? This is seen as a victory by over half of the country.

I never thought I would live to see a better politician/sleezebag than Bill Clinton, but Obama may be better. He has people convinced that his shitty policies are for the common good. The fiscal cliff is exactly what this country needed, because it was the only way to invoke the spending cuts necessary for our future. Now they collect more money, but fail to address the real problem which is spending.
